Heat has just got back from Sky One's big Gladiators' launch in a weird north London cavern, and it was a brilliantly over-the-top, camp experience.
All 12 of the new Gladiators were introduced, accompanied by booming music, dazzling lights, more dry ice than we've ever seen and lots of fire
explosions. As if that wasn't exciting enough, we had the spectacle of maverick Sky One supremo Richard Woolfe coming on stage and challenging the
audience of assembled hacks to a fight with those spongey fighting stick things. Of the new Gladiators, we're most excited about Enigma, but that's
because we have an exclusive story about her in the next issue of heat, out on Tuesday. But among the rest, watch out for Destroyer whose lunchbox
seemed to draw much attention (their Lycra outfits leave nothing to the imagination), while Spartan cunningly looks like a cast member from the film
300. All we can say is, roll on May when Gladiators returns to TV courtesy of Sky One.

Gladiators was my absolute favourite show as a kid, I'm so annoyed it's on Sky One. I won't be able to watch! Alas, i'll have to look at clips on
youtube to see if it is any good.

Oh cool, I know that one of them got a try out for wrestling, a female, i think its the blond girl.
THE wait is finally over – here are the 12 muscle-bound meatheads and brawny beauties who will take on all-comers as TV’s new Gladiators.
We revealed on Thursday how this year’s Lycra-clad crop is made up of some top-flight British athletes.
And today TV Biz can report they will be joined by an American football star and a serving Royal Marine.
The dozen gym junkies are already in training ahead of the show’s Sky One launch, pencilled in for next month.
Ian Wright and Kirsty Gallacher will be hosts and ref John Anderson will again be in charge of the whistle.
Producers whittled down 20,000 hopefuls to just 32 contenders to take on the Gladiators in events such as fans’ favourites Duel, Powerball, Hang Tough
and The Eliminator for a £50,000 prize.
Sky chief Richard Woolfe declared: “The games are bigger, the contenders are stronger and the Gladiators are even more unbelievable.
“It’s going to blow people’s socks off.”

TORNADO (David McIntosh, 22, Altrincham): The Royal Marine commando is the show’s cockiest character. He’s served in Afghanistan dontchaknow.
ATLAS (Sam Bond, 24, Bournemouth): The He-Man bodybuilder is the team heart-throb, with biceps like bisons and an ego to match.
BATTLEAXE (Shirley Webb, 26, Edinburgh): The hammer thrower has been likened to a warrior queen. And she insists of her Battleaxe moniker: “I like my
name.”
DESTROYER (Damar Martin, 38, Croydon): The ageing bodybuilder still packs a mean punch. “Nothing gets in my way,” he brags.
ENIGMA (Jenny Pacey, 25, Borehamwood): The Posh-lookalike heptathlete reckons she’s “impossible to capture”.
ICE (Caroline Pearce, 27, Cambridge): The British bobsleigh champ is the show’s hottest totty and the quietest – or, as she puts it, “frosty and
beautiful”.
INFERNO (Jemma Palmer, 24, Tamworth): This wrestler is great at acrobatics – even her boobs defy gravity.

OBLIVION (Nicholas Aldis, 21, Norwich): Boastful wrestler could rival Atlas in the womanising department. He “extinguishes his opposition” apparently.
PANTHER (Kara Nwidobie, 26, Morecambe): The shy former discus thrower trimmed her afro to give herself a more aggressive look. Ooh er!
PREDATOR (Du’aine Ladejo, 36, Newark): Former Love Island desperado and one of the oldest Gladiators. he says: “We’ll inspire kids to do their best.”

SPARTAN (Roderick Bradley, 24, Grantham): Pretty-boy US footballer reckons he’s a “brave warrior”. Just mind the face!
