Big Brother: The Battle
Just wanted to put my series idea across. It's one that's been rumoured many times before but I have a clear vision of how it would work and help
support a 14 week series.
Eye logo - grey areas are in the minority, representing losers;
red are in the majority, thicker, bolder and more powerful
Basically, The Battle is an evolution of the BB3 divide. It changes the whole show to be about fighting for survival - if you can play the game, you
can do do well. Firstly, some stats for the series:
- 100 days
- Launch Wednesday 4th June 21:00 to 22:15
- Finale Friday 12th September 21:00 to 22:45
- 16 housemates
Week 1 - Wednesday 4th to Saturday 7th June
Live Wednesday launch, 16 housemates enter into a live task right away. 8 losing housemates go to one bedroom, 8 winning housemates to another.
Through the glass of each bedroom, housemates watch as aluminium bars fall, dividing the house. Similar, very high bars divide the garden (somewhat
unfairly; poor side get much less space, no pool, etc). The rich side have the fully equipped kitchen, luxury bathroom and pool. The poor side have a
camp stove and outdoor (cold) showers. Big Brother can also control the amount of shade on the poor side with huge canvas, effectively stopping them
from getting tans and sunbathing if necessary.
Week 2 - Sunday 8th - Saturday 14th June
Housemates this week have to work in teams, either poor or rich. Big Brother appoints team leaders (maybe the most controlling housemate, or most
aggressive housemate, etc) who must delegate and take responsibility. Tasks begin on Saturday morning, concluding on Monday evening. Housemates pack
their bags to prepare to move to the other side of the house if necessary on Monday evening. The result is announced on Tuesday morning, immediately
followed by nominations. The winning team must either stay on or move to the rich side, with the losers either staying on or moving to the poor
side.
Now here's where it gets interesting. Rich side housemates have two nominations and are immune. Poor side housemates get one vote, and obviously must
nominate someone from THEIR side. Often, poor housemates would then nominate team leaders or those responsible for the failure of their task. 1
housemate evicted on Friday, 15 remain.
Week 3 - Sunday 15th - Saturday 21st June
The teams continue working as such, in teams. 1 housemate evicted on Friday, 14 remain.
Week 4 - Sunday 22nd - Saturday 28th June
This week there's a reshuffle. The tasks are individual and determine new rich/poor teams. It's every man for himself. This is designed to change
the dynamics of the house. 1 housemate evicted on Friday, 13 remain.
Week 5 - Sunday 29th June - Saturday 5th July
Week 6 - Sunday 6th July - Saturday 12th July
The teams continue with tasks/nominations. 1 housemate evicted on each Friday, 11 remain.
Week 7 - Sunday 13th July - Saturday 19th July
New one-man-for-himself task, with new teams being made. 1 housemate evicted on Friday, 10 remain.
Week 8 - Sunday 20th July - Saturday 26th July
Another group task, with new teams being made. This week, there's NO immunity barrier. Poor side housemates still only get one nomination. 1
housemate evicted on Friday, 9 remain.
Week 9 - Sunday 27th July - Saturday 2nd August
Another group task, with new teams being made. This week, there's NO immunity barrier. Poor side housemates still only get one nomination. 1
housemate evicted on Friday, 8 remain.
Week 10 - Sunday 3rd August - Saturday 9th August
Another group task, with new teams being made. This week, there's NO immunity barrier. Poor side housemates still only get one nomination. A shock
DOUBLE eviction on Friday leaving six. Here's how it would work:
- First eviction as normal. Then, Davina crosses back to the house.
- "Big Brother house," she would say, as the bars start to RISE around them. "This is Davina... you are LIVE on Channel 4, please do not swear!"
As the housemates are at their most confused, probably hugging with the house at one for the first time, she announces the second evictee.
Week 11 - Sunday 10th August - Saturday 16th August
Nominations as per usual format - two per housemate. Tasks still must be done as a team to determine the shopping budget for the week, though house
life is much more relaxed and easy, with more parties and fun. This week there's NO eviction - though the housemates think there will be!
Week 12 - Sunday 17th August - Saturday 23rd August
This week, the Final Six continue to work for their shopping budget. More parties and fun!
Week 13 - Sunday 24th August - Saturday 30th August
In the penultimate week, the housemates have a luxury budget with no task. Lots of fun, parties and things like this. Eviction on Friday determines
Final Five.
Week 14 - Sunday 31st August - Friday 5th August
Again, luxury budget. No tasks, apart from one which doesn't determine much - various projects to log memories, from diaries, to films, to speeches.
Messages from home, also, on the Wednesday, followed by an award ceremony.
Thursday, shock eviction during a party, leaving Final Four.
Friday, finale and winner announced. The end!
