Do they want to step backwards or forwards. Old John McCain and that horrible Palin woman. She just strikes me as such an arrogant person with all her
'beliefs' about guns and everything. I sure hope they don't win. If Hillary Clinton had been chosen for Obama's VP, McCain wouldn't of chosen
Sarah Palin.

Don't like either candidate, always wanted Hillary to win.

Sarah Palin - doesn't believe in abortion. Says her daughter has made a choice to have her baby - fair enough....except that she wants to deny others
that choice.
Was happy for rape victims to be charged for their rape testing kits.
Tried to get her brother in law fired from his job as state trooper, over a personal disagreement.
Was apparently overheard saying, "So Sambo beat the bitch," upon hearing that Obama beat Hillary Clinton for the democratic presidential nominee.
Refers to Eskimos as "Arctic Arabs".
Was asked if she agreed with the Bush doctrine - she wasn't able to say what that doctrine was.
Said that prior to accepting the job as VP candidate, she talked the decision over with her daughters. It has since been proven that she accepted the
job before even telling her daughters.
When she became Mayor of Wasilla, the town had NO debt. By the time she left that post, the town was $22 million in debt.
Has been alleged dodgy expense claims.
Talks about a "Palin-McCain administration" (someone needs to remind her, she is VP candidate, not presidential candidate) and referred to McCain as
her running mate. (The VP candidate is always referred to as the running mate, not the other way around - frankly if John McCain does get in, he needs
to watch his back...she doesn't want to be VP, she wants the top job).
Said that if her daughter got pregnant as a result of rape, she would not allow her to have an abortion.
Is willing to wage war on Russia (thanks, but I've already lived through the threat of one Cold War - I don't fancy going through it again).
Has far less experience than Obama, despite the fact that McCain attacked Obama relentlessly for his lack of experience.
Belongs to a Church which prays to make gay people straight.
Is against same-sex marriage.
In addition to that post, I would add that in a recent interview, Sarah Palin still refers to Putin as the president of Russia. (Apparently, the fact
that he flies over Alaska qualifies her in areas of foreign policy - honestly, I am not kidding)! First of all, Putin is not president any more - you
would think the American VP nominee would be aware of such facts. Secondly, foreign planes fly over where I live - does that qualify me to negotiate
with those countries?
She referred to the UN Complex as US soil (in the same interview). Huge error. Part of the UN agreement was that the UN Complex is NEUTRAL
territory. Simple mistake you might think? Well yes, if it was you or me saying it. But it was a VP nominee! http://www.un.org/geninfo/faq/factsheets/FS23.HTM
There are now 64 proven lies which John McCain has told during the election campaign. (I know a certain member seems to think that a proven
liar is a better choice for president than someone who does not appear to have told any lies whatsoever, but personally I disagree).
I also don't like the idea of a man who makes jokes about women being raped (McCain), or that we should give free cigarettes to Muslims, to give them
cancer (McCain), or who chants, "Bomb, bomb, bomb Iran" and then tells protesters to "get a life" (yep, you got it - McCain again).
Sorry for repeating myself, but if a duplicate thread hadn't been made, I wouldn't need to.
Obama is ahead almost all of the polls. What is interesting is that even in staunch replublican states, which McCain is doubtless going to win, he is
only up by 2 or 3 points, whereas Bush won those states by huge amounts. I am also happy to see that polls are showing more people wanting Biden as
VP than Palin. In fact, her popularity has dropped massively since she was announced as McCain's running mate.
Just watching the debate now
It seems as soon as McCain gave Obama a difficult question, Obama changed the topic so quickly. McCain could of been abit more forceful when
speaking.
I think both men came great out of this, maybe McCain a little more.

Obama "$600 billion spent on Iraq, 4000 lives lost and Al Quaeda stronger than ever" thats what Bush and the Republicans have done to fight
terrorism!! and you want more of the same! I think Obama won that hands down. He has more heart and soul and more understanding of how to fight
terrorism than the gung ho republicans will ever have

Most polls have Obama as coming out of it far better.
McCain trying to postpone the debate has done him no favours whatsoever. I think McCain will be very lucky to win this election now (and I hope he
loses).

I am looking forward to the Biden/Palin debate. I think he will rip her to shreds. Since being named as VP nominee, Biden has done almost 100
interviews. Palin has done...3. And put her foot in it in every single one.

Current betting odds (which have been just as accurate as the polls, and more accurate than them in recent years) have Obama at 4-11 to win, and
McCain at 15-8 to win, which is great news.
Interesting odds, I think it will get closer.
McCain really needed to perform better in that debate but he didn't do badly
I think alot is going to rest on what Palin says before the election.

Possibly. But to be honest (and I'm not trying to pick a fight)! I think she has become a thorn in the side of the Republican campaign. For her to
have only given three interviews since being announced (Biden has given nearly 100), and on each of those interviews she has made a blunder...it's
not looking good. A VP nominee really should know who the president of Russia is, especially as she keeps going on about how Alaska is next to
Russia, which she seems to think qualifies her to talk knowledgeably about the country). In her recent press conference, she only too 4(!) questions,
and all the news channels (even Fox News, which is massively right wing) are unhappy with the way the Republican camp seem to be trying to protect
her.

McCain is now retracting statements made by Sarah Palin (with regard to whether the US would enter Pakistan). He must be kicking himself for picking
her.
She basically agreed with Obama's stance, and now McCain has had to retract what she said. Oh, it does make me smile.....
