Hello, Im thinking of adding a modification to the board.... just wondered what you think before I do it

Its basically a Experience chart.

After you post under your name will be 3 bars and a level, these are all dependant on your post count.

The first bar is MP and this is your post count divided by 3

The second bar is HP - this is your post count divided by 4

THe third bar is Exp. This is (MP * HP) divided by 2

Then whatever your Exp is determines what level you are, and that level is shown under your name...

I know this isn't a very good description, but I thought it looks really good, and wondered what you think...

If I put it up and you don't like it, I cna always take it down

It sound's good, though may be a little confusing but it may be ok when its' up and running and we can see how it works then.

I have put them up....

Now I will just mess around with the numbers, the colour of the bars etc.

When I am finsihed I will post up a thread explaining them so everyone knows

There great, I've just thought they remind me of a game I used to play on the old SNES year's ago The Secret Of Mana. MP, Magic Power, HP Hero Power, Exp Experience. The more you play the better it becomes. It's Cool

mmmmmmmm these graphs are the sugn of a left handed brain and do not mean a THING to me ....................... too complicated

There great, thought there was a mana feel to it. The numbers on the far right of the bar are what you have to get, to move up a level. so if it's 0 / 100 you have to get to 100 to move 1 up. Every time you post the the 0,1,2,3 etc will move up to the far number. It's a quick way to see when your due to move up one level clever idea.

Im still trying to edit them... The bars dont always go where they should lol

I think it's a good idea but I'm not sure why there needs to be 3 bars when they are all related to how many posts have been made.

You could base the second bar on how long someone had been a member.

The third bar could be a calculation based on the number of posts made and the length of time as a member.

I thought we wanted the bars to come down

I've seen these on other boards and always found them pointless, irritating and off-putting. The quality of posts should be the only factor which is judged upon, not some silly post count or length of service.

I find they lead to immature members posting more just to get their post counts up. It would be a bit of a whizz if post counts disappeared full stop.

I have 'taken the bars down'

A lot of people didn't like them so it's best to take them down!

It was worth a try!
