GEMMA: I WANT TO BE BIG IN MOVIES SEXY Gemma Atkinson is set to swap the heat of the telly jungle for the glitz and glamour of Hollywood.
It is a move that could net the I’m A Celebrity babe £2million in 2008.
We can exclusively reveal that the 23-year-old was whisked straight from the jungle camp in Australia to a casting for a huge A-list movie.
Hollywood bosses were blown away by the sight of Gemma’s amazing assets during her stint on the ITV show. Now they hope she will flash her blockbusters on the silver screen.
The former Hollyoaks actress is already starring in a steamy British movie, which is due to be released next year. It will see her romp topless in a lesbian scene with rising star Jaime Winstone, 22.
“It’s all about the arts scene in London,” says Manchester lass Gemma. “People will be shocked when they hear about it. It was my first film, so Jaime helped me out.”
She admits that nerves nearly got the better of her when it came to shooting the sizzling scenes.
But she adds: “Jaime was great, saying: ‘Just relax – you’ll be fine.’ She gave me a shot of vodka beforehand and we just got on and did it.”
Success
Now it looks as if shooting movies will soon become second nature to Gemma if her casting sessions in Tinseltown prove a success.
But after seeing the down-to-earth girl win the hearts of the nation on I’m A Celebrity, telly bosses in the UK are desperate not to lose her to the States. They have lined up a string of shows in a bid to lure her back to the small screen here.
However, they could be fighting a losing battle. As well as her movie ambitions, Gemma also plans to move into music across the Atlantic.
“I’m working with producers and they’re taking me to Nashville to write some songs,” she says. “I wanted to do something where I learn a bit more about music, rather than just do it because I was in Hollyoaks.”
Unlike other ex-soap stars, Gemma insists that she will not fall into the trap of simply making pop music aimed at teenagers.
She says: “There was a rumour it was going to be pop, but it’s completely not going to be that. It’s going to be very ballady – soul and R&B. Something you can sing to.”
Her rise to A-list status has even caught the attention of cosmetics firms. She has been inundated with offers to be the face of top beauty products and perfumes, both here and in the States.
But could she face moving to a land with few footballers? “It’s nothing to do with their job,” laughs Gemma, who has dated Manchester United’s Cristiano Ronaldo, 22, and is now with Wigan’s Marcus Bent, 29.
“I just like guys who take care of themselves. I’ve been out with lads who aren’t footballers, but who go to the gym and work out every day.”
Hollywood certainly has its fair share of hunks, although it is not the younger ones who have caught her eye.
“I think Al Pacino’s sexy. Sly Stallone still looks wicked and Richard Gere as well. I wouldn’t say no to an older fella.”
So there’s hope for us all, eh guys?
