Its not emo at all:bored:

King Gizzard 14-08-2009 12:16 AM

Suppose theres the old punk rock like the DKs then theres the newer versions

Enid 14-08-2009 12:16 AM

None of the above is punk. NFG, Brand New is pop punk. I'll let you get away with Blink 182, their earlier stuff was very punk.

As for the bands Twilight listed...... uhh.... massive insult. :bored:

I like The Clash, Buzzcocks, Sex Pistols, Distillers, X-Ray Spex.

ive often called it punk rock and alot of people did/and still do, there are just two different periods and two different meanings. plus i wouldnt call brand new pop punk

FOB are the sheer definition of emo so yeah.

erm not sure, I reckon anything I like that resembles pop punk would fit into more 'emo' so yeah Paramore, Verruca Salt, Garbage.

I do like Sex Pistols and Blink 182 though.

That's fine, but that stuff will never be comparable to the old school punk.

Twilight 14-08-2009 12:21 AM

"massive insult" lol that makes you look so immature:rolleyes:

At lest i don't listen to crap

King Gizzard 14-08-2009 12:21 AM

So? These websites have no idea about music and are too lazy to create different sub-genre categories, so they just end up lumping bands in random groups. Trust me. FOB are not punk.

twilight, hannah montana is hardly quality music either so lets not go into music snobbery.

Oh bondage, up yours!!

letsrockfosho 14-08-2009 12:44 AM

I'm into pop punk like NFG. I'm from the area Set Your Goals is from (bay area california). I saw Four Year Strong and ADTR with NFG a couple months ago. A good band is Fight Fair! from San Diego. I'm not really into punk though. I'm more into the hardcore scene like Bane and Comeback Kid.

I can't really think of any big UK Hardcore bands, they all generally come from america and theres a couple in australia and a few dotted around scandinavia, but the biggest from UK I can think of is Your Demise
