Panic! At The Disco

Want to hate them. But their first album is great. Yeah should kill myself I know, but reminds me of my chat days lol and the songs are catchy!

MrGaryy 18-11-2009 12:19 AM

I have a love hate relationship with them. They seemed to have frontlined the sulky teen, ridiculously eloquent lyrics, 'emo' movement a few years ago along with Paramore and FOB, which immediately put me off them, but they do have something to them [I do actually love Paramore and FallOut Boy have their moments of greatness]. I do quite like their current single from the Jennifer's Body soundtrack however.

InOne 18-11-2009 12:22 AM

They are way above Paramore I think. The guy who writes the lyrics seems pretty intelligent. Don't think they are the same band now, not sure :S. But the old stuff I did like.

MrGaryy 18-11-2009 12:25 AM

I'm a bit of a Para***** I'm afraid so I must disgaree. but both bands have a lot more substance to them than people give them credit for.

Like the new Paramore one, and the lead singer is hotly feisty.

MrGaryy 18-11-2009 12:30 AM

yeah I love Hayley. they went a bit too pop with their last album but they said that was just to gather a following after their more alternative debut sort of flopped and they seemed to have honoured their word by pretty much returning to their original sound with the new album.

Well she was on stage with Gwen which is good. Loved No Doubt and if she likes her then it is not too bad!!!

MrGaryy 18-11-2009 12:33 AM

I saw that video of them with Hayley, would have adored to have been there, two of my favourite bands. Wish they had toured over here.

InOne 18-11-2009 12:36 AM

Don't have any idea what Gwen is doing now really. Saw No Doubt years ago. Would be good if they did a tour. Paramore are in the UK soon though.

MrGaryy 18-11-2009 12:39 AM

Gwen's back with ND, they're writing a new album at the minute. the summer tour was supposed to inspire them to help them write. either way I'm looking forward to new material.

InOne 18-11-2009 12:42 AM

Yeah Gwen was ace in ND before she got big.

I like P!ATD. Their albums are great and they have some very good and unique tracks [Mad As Rabbits is a great song and very underrated]. I do think they were better before the split, even though New Perspective is currently one of my fave songs. <3 But yeah, they're awesome :') And Brendon Urie has a very recognizable voice so that's good :)

But as Shaun said, Fall Out Boy >

Deirdre 18-11-2009 10:07 PM

Brendan Urie has an amazing voice. I love New Perspective, Nine in the Afternoon and the other one...
Their lyrics are very impressive too. I think they're underrated tbh.

MiuMiu 18-11-2009 10:13 PM

Didn't they drop the "!" in their name?

LemonJam 18-11-2009 10:15 PM

Fall out Boy pre-Infinity on high were amazing.
Paramore are amazing
Panic aren't bad but nothing outstanding.

Yep but I like the old stuff so decided to put it in the thread.

Sophii3x 19-11-2009 05:35 PM

I like them, but I'm not a fan or anything. A Fever You Can't Sweat Out is a great album and my favourite song of theirs is 'Lying Is The Most Fun a Girl Can Have Without Taking Her Clothes Off' :P
