Not allowed to wear England shirts or display England flags in pubs??????????

Has anyone else heard this rumour? Can't possibly be true can it?

Kerry 18-05-2010 05:09 PM

I know you can't in nightclubs but pubs should be fair enough

KG. 18-05-2010 05:10 PM

I haven't heard this, but I very much doubt it's true.

However, the landlord is allowed to decide what happens in their pub, so I wouldn't be surprised if there was some arsey bastard that was opposed to it and decided to ban it and maybe everyone just took it as being the general rule?

I remember when I was living in East London and the council banned the Union Jack flags being displayed in the market as it could be seen as "offensive"

Abosulte bs, I was absolutely fuming.. and I was only 12

Harry! 18-05-2010 05:13 PM

PC nonsence again I bet. Can people just exept this is England and we have the right to be British.

Vicky. 18-05-2010 05:15 PM

What possible reason could there be for that?!

Tom4784 18-05-2010 05:18 PM

These rumours are always spread around world cups and such, It's just a bunch of racists trying to drum up hate.

InOne 18-05-2010 05:21 PM

How many groups have said that Facebook will eventually charge for it's services? It's just attention hungry people manipulating the brainless masses into joining.

Stu 18-05-2010 05:28 PM

Do these politically correct arsewipes even realise how big a platform they are giving to prejudice scum, BNP, skinheads and the like everytime they pass riddiculous rules like this?

Either way I doubt it will become a reality.

For the record, I have not joined lol

The Mars Company has sent the Mars Bars
to Scotland with the English flag logo on them.

Many Scotts will no longer buy one.

Fron Live at Studio Five.

Novo 18-05-2010 05:46 PM

Who comes up with this ****e..

I hope no one goes to the Pubs that will ban England Shirts and Flags, what kind off Atmosphere will you get there? would be like a morgue

Claymores 18-05-2010 08:03 PM

For the record Novo, InOne et al - altho I'm an awful jock, I have no problems with English people wearing their colours in Scottish pubs. During the Euro Championships in 96 we had exactly one Englishman in white among 100 Scots - we bought him a drink when Gazza scored and vowed to murder McAllister!

In a snooker club in the middle of nowhere in Scotland, I was told to remove my Rhein Fire top (a German team playing American Football only on the Continent by this time). I had to ask "are you scared some Frankfurt Galexy fans come in and get offended?????" PC gone mad.

BBLuva 18-05-2010 08:09 PM

Its not true, Ive seen pubs with the flags up already

Sure - I don't think general ban, InOne just meant some over-sensitive.

In Scotland it is like this because Rangers/Celtic - not allowed to wear soccer tops in bars. Seems silly - but if read above, I'd be worried to wear an Argentina top as a Scot because I hope they will put you out.

Novo 18-05-2010 08:32 PM

Ashley Cole will have Messi in his Pocket

they will have no chance of knocking us out

England 4-0 Argentina

Rooney (2)
Lampard
Baines

Get £20 on that scoreline and all the goalscorers claymores and you will be a rich man

Claymores 18-05-2010 08:33 PM

If Algeria beat Engerland 1-0 and I'm stupid enough to wear my Algeria top that night I think is the point and I'm in troule. I said above it was accepted when England beat Sotland in my local in'96
