TiBB Photography Competition >> Round 1 [Results Posted]

This week the contestants were given the theme Joy - they had to take pictures of things that represented joy to them. Here is what they came up with! Plus, she seems to be pretty happy, most of the time it seems as if she is permanently smiling! So i took this. For me it does show Joy.. I dunno why but it makes me Happy! I think its because its an amazing sight and the end of the day and just so beautiful! Jords ------------------------------------------------------- http://i56.tinypic.com/1p9lz5.png Inspiration: I think there's 2 types of joy that can be shown in pictures - physical (i.e. expression) and symbolic (i.e. something that brings joy). I opted for symbolic when I found it hard getting a good photo of my pup jumping up. Music brings me and a lot of people joy - either to enhance your mood or played at celebrations to have a dance or sing along. I made it clear that I wanted to show music as joyous by arranging the headphone wiring to write the word 'J-O-Y' Locke. ------------------------------------------------------- http://a7.sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphot..._4755923_n.jpg Inspiration: My dog being very joyful whilst getting ready for a night down at the pub Shaun ------------------------------------------------------- http://i53.tinypic.com/2a5hojp.jpg Inspiration: Yeah it's a bit lazy but I genuinely did take this photo last night LOL and it's got sparklers, it's a birthday celebration, my sister's laughing/smiling, and it was a really great night so I think it's a nice representation of 'joy'. I wouldn't say it's a technically amazing photo but still Voting Details So there we go! The contestants the forum members and judges will be voting for this week are: Adjacent jarroddaniel1 Jords Locke. Shaun As Conor and Iceman didn't send their photos in before the deadline, they will be given a warning - failure to send in their photos again will result in an instant elimination, but I'll let them off for this week as it was the first round. Forum members voting = rank the photos this week in order of preference (eg. 1st = Favourite...5th = Least favourite) Judges voting = Rate each photo out of 20, giving points to these 3 aspects of the photo - Originality (up to 5 points) Sticking to the theme (up to 5 points) and Overall quality of the photo (up to 10 points). As Patrick is away on holiday, only 3 judges will be voting this week - CharlieO, Niamh and ukturtle. Send your votes to me via PM. Voting will close tomorrow evening at 6PM, so get your votes in now everyone! |

I was going to do the same as Shaun, but the only person smiling in any of the pics took on thursday was myself, and someone else took that photo :bored:
Keep that in mind when you're voting people. Also, it took a lot of time and effort to get that shirt on my dog. |

Whoa whoa whoa...... why has Adjacent been allowed to change their entry? I personally already voted on their sandwich photo.....and then they get to change the pic to something else whilst voting is still in play?

Mollie incorrectly posted the sandwich placeholder/backup I had submitted. I took the cat photo and submitted it before the deadline. So all is good, I think? :P

People who voted on Adjacent's sandwich entry can change their vote if they want. He did change the entry before the deadline, I just didn't see it until after I posted the sandwich one :S

Sorry about the delay guys - I was planning to give the results at 6pm but it's been my mum's birthday day.
