He said to one of the Jedwards " I will throw you and your Poofter brother through the screen "

Did he say that or was i hearing things ?

Jords 30-08-2011 10:09 PM

Kerry 30-08-2011 10:09 PM

Niamh. 30-08-2011 10:10 PM

He probably said something completely different to what you thought he said. Thats usually the case.

fingers 30-08-2011 10:17 PM

Received pronunciation is not really his thing, is it?

Kate! 30-08-2011 10:19 PM

I think he said stupid brother but its hard to tell with Paddy. I find him quite a decent chap now, didnt at first.

Semtex 30-08-2011 10:22 PM

"I swear on my life I was gonna throw him & his *******ed up brother through the screen."

There'd be no complaints from me ..... :cheer2:

Zippy 30-08-2011 10:26 PM

Its hardly difficult to imagine him use words like that.

But to me its more about intent rather than the words. I didnt see it so I don't know the context.

Locke. 30-08-2011 10:27 PM

Who cares people call them much worse all over the internet, and he isn't exactly wrong is he.

Yes you are right he did say *******ed up, damn i need subtitles for paddy and Tara.

lostalex 31-08-2011 07:36 AM

He definitely said "fooked up brother", i just re-watched it.

I still think he's homophobic though, based on what he said to Sally after she asked what if his son is gay.

Yes I think that's one of the Traveller commandments 'Thou shall not be gay'

Semtex 31-08-2011 08:05 AM

Paddy has always been very attached to the Church.
Have you seen the price of lead?

You are right on that it is frowned on massively.
Actually Paddy did himself no favours with his rant, however he did admit in the diary room, that he couldn't explain his thinking at the minute, that he was missing his wife and that just about all the people he is in the house with are simply 'not' his type of people.

Since Jedward are the noisiest and most persistent, they got the main thrust of his frustration but it will go over their heads, they never take offence and just take what's said about them and thrown at them.

Paddy likely rules the roost in part of his community, he naturally will find being in the house massively hard.I don't think he would ever really insult a woman and I think Tara and Pamela are really annoying him now, so instead of them he turned on easier targets.

I am just glad he didn't really explode, could have been rather nasty.

Classic.

daniel-lewis-1985 31-08-2011 10:09 AM

Hope he did and hope they didnt block it out.

None of this pc business.

Livia 31-08-2011 11:21 AM

If he did say it - and I really don't think he did - then he would have to be thrown out. I remember Emily who said the 'N' word to Charley. I think everyone agreed there was no malice in it, but she was marched out of the house in her jimjams in the middle of the night. I don't see how calling someone a poofter would be any more acceptable.

You are presuming that they take homophobia as seriously as racism. I don't think they do.

I don't think they take misogyny as seriously eigther.

Unfortuinately gays and women don't kick up as much of a fuss as the racial minorities. Don't you know? they are "special"

Ammi 31-08-2011 11:49 AM

Shows how bad it is when we need subtitles to understand what the housemates are saying

I think you're wrong. I think some people take homophobia a lot more seriously than racism. Yourself, for instance. I've just seen you take exception to someone saying something is "gay" on another thread... and yet you made some seriously racist comments to me last week.
