Fetch The Bolt Cutters 27-05-2020 08:04 PM

I got doom eternal today :amazed:

I started replaying doom 2016 a few days ago and i think i’m almost finished

Fetch The Bolt Cutters 29-05-2020 01:46 PM

Is it just me or is eternal not as pretty looking as doom 2016 :worry: the map/menu screens in 2016 were so sleek and gorgeous they’re kinda ugly in eternal

The Slim Reaper 29-05-2020 01:49 PM

Stop complaining or Arista won't buy you any other games. :smug:

Fetch The Bolt Cutters 29-05-2020 01:54 PM

I found the LOD graphics really flat but I dunno if it was down to my monitor settings (playing on PC). I've been wrestling with the gamma and brightness and quite a few games look sort of washed out in the distance. Other than that I wouldn't say I particularly rate the visuals anyway - they're good, but nothing earth shattering or new. The main innovation over other FPS is the gameplay really. I think I described it earlier as being "like a roller-coaster" and that's the best way I can think to describe it. A fast, gory roller-coaster :joker:.

I just ordered a 32" 4k QLED monitor today though, and its on my list of games for testing out that [emoji1786][emoji1786]. We'll see how she goes!

Ghost of Tsushima. I absolutely love it so far, but only played for a couple of hours.

The Slim Reaper 19-07-2020 07:47 PM

This game is ridiculously good.

TS?

You're a Japanese Samurai during the first Mongol invasion of Japan, and it starts off as you're about to get into a big battle where they basically wipe us out, then it's a big revenge story, basically. But the combat and upgrade systems are very RPG and work really well, and the story is great. It's like a cross between Assassin's Creed and The witcher.

Ah ok, I might check it out on YT

Definitely worth checking out. It's visually stunning too.

Funnily enough Ghost of Tsushima is the next game I have lined up to play, but I can't tell you what it's like yet, having not played it yet. I still have to finish TLOU2, I can't play it with the kids around because the zombies re too scary so I'm crawling through it at a rate of about 45 mins to an hour per evening :umm2:. I think I'm FAIRLY close to the end, though.

I'm also considering getting P5 Royal because my youngest was happy enough to watch Persona 5 first time round, so I can be a great dad & employee and play it all day on the sly instead of doing boring stuff like parenting and working .

Seriously considering playing Vagrant Story again. If the CD's work that is.

One of the best games ever made and a game that really deserves a remake.

I enjoyed it but I think a remake would need to be an action RPG. Maybe a Souls-like? It had a sort of similar vibe to the Dark Souls games. But I don't think the original gameplay would hold up well in a modern remake.

You are probably right. Maybe someone of a mixture of both, an option to choose between live action play and move & pause & strategize action & aim & execute or somehow make the pause & strategize action & execute format more fluid and quicker to accomplish.

But tbh Vagrant Story would work as an Action RPG without the MPSAE as the only thing separating it from an Action RPG nowadays would be the MPSAE system, I imagine. It would fit right in, I imagine.

I've never played Dark Souls sadly.

Started replaying Star Craft 1 yesterday. Such an awesome game.

Will continue SC2 someday.

The Sinking City - It's basically Sherlock Holmes in it's gameplay with the setting of Silent Hill, the Game itself also sights H.P Lovecraft's work as inspiration for the Game.

For me it's been a fantastic Game with an interesting world to explore, the only complaint for me would be the combat is a bit broken imo, the camera in particular jerks around when trying to shoot the monsters. But thankfully the Game is mainly about investigating the weird crimes in Oakmont where there's not much fighting to be done.

Mystic Mock 14-08-2020 02:11 PM

Persona 5 - It's absolutely fantastic, I'm on the third Dungeon at the moment. It's one of the most fun Games on the PS4 so far imo.

I'm quite **** at the Game though.:joker:
