-would request a joy division TopTens from Shaun but i don't know how many votes it'd get outside the three of us :(-
you'd be surprised I think
I have been constantly listening to Joy Division/New Order again over the last few weeks. My obsession has re-raised it's head. Like it ever goes away...
DAT JOY DIVISlON :worship:
Atmosphere and Love Will Tear Us Apart are both top 20 songs of all time tbh. Atmosphere probably top 5.
kind of random but I think ''Joy Division'' is my favorite band name
She's Lost Control is a pretty significant song too. Has a lot of meaning as does Love Will Tear Us Apart. Love Transmission too.
A lot of love for Twenty Four Hours recently too
Cheers Baz, you've got me listening to them non-stop too now :P |
Glad to be of service.

I am mad fan of Joy Division and Ian Curtis. I love their music, 'love Will Tear Us Apart' and 'Atmosphere' are tracks I play endlessly.
You just wonder what could have been really and I also have Deborah Curtis' book, Touching from a Distance,(Ian Curtis and Joy Division). So sad and revealing but what a great legacy of music and talent. |
The movie of his short life was pish tho - how to undermine a legend by UK cinematographers
I actually found Control quite insightful when I went to see it. I would like to watch it again. Might have a look for the dvd..
Control was excellent. Peter Hook paid it compliments too even though he admitted that some of it was for the movies, so to speak. Perhaps Claymores is thinking of 24 Hour Party People? Which is good fun but mostly just Steve Coogan going around being Steve Coogan for 90 minutes.
Whilst New Order probably musically do more for me as a group, Joy Division just get me. Get me like depressing bands are meant to get people. But I've always just enjoyed depressing bands. Good music is good music and so makes me happy. But no Joy Division actually depress me. They demand it from you though. It's this weird sadomasochistic kind of symbiotic relationship between listener and artist. |
