Facebook Voting cost increases

Quote:

Channel 5 has increased the price of Big Brother UK Facebook voting, it has emerged, with single votes going up from around 7p to 31p.

Since the system was launched last year, one vote has cost users one Facebook Credit, which is worth roughly 7p in GBP*. However, as of the new series, one vote will cost 5 Facebook Credits – which equates to roughly 31p*.

The price of discounted vote bundles has also been increased. A bundle of 50 votes has gone up from 40 Credits (£2.52*) to 225 Credits (£14.04, or 28p each*) – while the 100 vote bundle has gone up from 80 Credits (£5.06*) to 450 Credits (£28.08/28p each*).

The 12 vote bundle (10 Credits/63p*) has been replaced with 5 votes (25 Credits/£1.56*), and the 24 vote bundle (20 Credits/£1.26*) has been replaced by 10 votes (45 Credits/£2.81*).

The new charges bring Facebook voting more in line with telephone voting, with each premium rate call charged at 36p.

I'll stick to the landline then if I need to vote.

Always wondered why they were so cheap though, but this is disappointing. Doubt many people will be using Facebook voting this year.

MTVN 02-06-2012 11:51 AM

Well that's a joke, won't bother voting this year

JohnnyBB 02-06-2012 11:52 AM

From 7p to 35p, To Be Fair I Only Voted once and That Was For aaron In The Final, I Wont Be Voteing, enought ppl vote for the ones i want out anyway :)

Jack_ 02-06-2012 11:56 AM

Perhaps with the extra revenue they could at last fork out for you know what. Not that they couldn't afford it now of course...

Maia 02-06-2012 12:24 PM

Won't need to go to that website this year then, good stuff

Black Dagger 02-06-2012 12:45 PM

Well I won't be voting this year then.

They've probably done it because Facebook voting is what ensured Aaron won tbh :idc:

Jords 02-06-2012 12:57 PM

Its a fairer move but the increase is too much, to 20p would be fine.

DigitalSid 02-06-2012 01:10 PM

Good. Fairer, will stops tweens who spend all their parents money on the one they fancy stopping a good housemate from winning.

Marc 02-06-2012 02:41 PM

 people are going to kick off about this

Locke. 02-06-2012 02:42 PM

Good, that confirms I won't be wasting my money voting this year then.

Marcus. 02-06-2012 02:43 PM

i only voted once for jay bad idea

MTVN 02-06-2012 02:46 PM

Bad idea indeed, you should have voted a lot more than that

Definitely, much fairer! Last years phone votes were totally pointless.

yeah i should but i voted for him then ather what he did i dont like him anymore

Scotty07 02-06-2012 04:18 PM

No suprise at all, it was too good value to last. I have no interest in facebook never have never will and only used it for the bargain voting, so at least I won't have to go there ever again.:)

daniel-lewis-1985 02-06-2012 04:27 PM

Good.

Maybe it will stop all the teeny boppers voting just to keep the pretty people in.

I tried voting on numerous occasions last year and the website just kept crashing, it was an awful service.

Scotty07 02-06-2012 04:34 PM

Had no trouble with it on my PC, but it was slow torture on my laptop particularly CBB9.

Samuel. 02-06-2012 05:49 PM

Thank god, voting through Facebook was a pain. You go through like three windows, all loading as slow as TiBB, just to vote once.

I don't know why people think this will improve the voting results though. Two of the most entertaining housemates, Aaron and Denise, won the two series' that Facebook voting has played a part.

yeah voted one online and it take long

MTVN 02-06-2012 09:26 PM

Weren't people crediting the cheap facebook voting with having entertaining winners like Aaron and now it was apparently a "teeny bopper" thing?

Marcus. 02-06-2012 09:27 PM

i think is both

Whether it was good or not it wasn't exactly fair was it? The phone votes were almost pointless.

Patrick 02-06-2012 10:08 PM

orly? That's fine. Then they can go ****** themselves.
