People like people that have overcome challenges and lived to tell the tale

all these 'oh he only won because he was transgender'

people aren't just going to vote because of that are they. if they are genuinely nice people that have also overcome great challenges in their lives, people are drawn to that.

it means that they're strong people and people like that in a person.

Tom4784 13-08-2012 10:12 PM

Luke A's not strong, he's an eternal victim. He had a sob story and he rode it all the way to the bank. Bad things happen to a lot of people but not everyone feels the need to go on about it 24/7.

cookiemonster 13-08-2012 10:14 PM

he only mentioned it once to each housemate at the beginning. do you ave any other clips of him "talking about it 24/7" big brother mentioned it a lot but they just played that same one clip.

RodHull 13-08-2012 10:17 PM

Ill be honest of the people left only he and Adam deserved to win (thank moses that Deana didn't win) BUT me and my wife called this on day 1, as soon as he mentioned the trans thing we both looked at each other and said 'well unless he turns out to be a murderer he's won!'... and so it came to pass.

Truth be told nice guy though he seemed Adam was a more worthy winner, hes probably had a MUCH harder life than Luke A and doesn't really bang on about it all the time, clearly from snippets of info hes had a very challenging journey and come out the other side a decent, caring bloke. Adam should have won but Luke A was an OK winner all things considered, Im just elated that Deana was shown up to be the cold stuck up princess that she was and didn't win... never mind she can go home and pay a poor person £7 to cook her a nice meal now...

@Cookiemonster: He never went on about it all the time, but he often referred to be 'not feeling accepted' 'feeling as though people looked down on him' 'wanting to feel good about himself' 'wanting public acceptance' etc etc

Personally I think Scott should have won, a true individual and proper British eccentric... but hey ho

Tom4784 13-08-2012 10:19 PM

Every time he had an argument in the house or something happened that would make him look bad he'd go straight into the Diary Room, shed some crocodile tears and remind the audience to keep voting for him because he's had a hard life.

No one has an easy life, we all face challenges. I just hate people that use a bad lot in life to get ahead instead of trying to do so on their own merit.

Even Emma said tonight he hadn't gone on about it

MTVN 13-08-2012 10:26 PM

To be honest his gender has barely even been an issue this series which I'm glad about, I don't think it played much part in his win

cookiemonster 13-08-2012 10:26 PM

he never once said he "had a hard life" and when he said he'd felt like an outsider all his life that's just him stating something. if he feels like that then he's going to mention it when he's upset and feels isolated.

maybe people that think he "talked about it 24/7" are envious that Luke can talk about his problems/feelings truthfully?

RodHull 13-08-2012 10:28 PM

Not gonna disagree but with the bunch we had this year it was always gonna be between him, Adam and Deana... maybe Lauren briefly but she was to sneaky to win.

Adam was to humble and didnt bang on about his hard life as much and Deana had the opposite of a hard life, really its amazing she got that far, had Connor not bullied her she'd have been out week 2 tops in any normal series. Shes rich, has servants, was patronising... I fail to see a redeeming feature in her. Ill give her that she did a very good act for nigh on 7 weeks, but those final weeks she showed her true personality and man it was ugly. So really only Luke A or Adam was ever going to win... Aside from the final 2 I called them all exactly in right order this year including the last 4 evictions prior to tonight.

armand.kay 13-08-2012 10:29 PM

Why is it then that Deana hates always brought up the 'victim card' :bored:.

He didn't talk about it 24 hours at all. He told them all at the start. He was asked questions by some at other times and answered them as anybody would.

rusticgal 13-08-2012 10:48 PM

At the start I thought Luke A would have nothing apart from his 'story'....when in fact he turned out to be a decent human being.
All those bitches in there...he only said he would not have anything to do with Becky because she had a spat with his wife. That was his decency.
On the other hand I liked the sincerity of Adam who said that most of the people in there were not decent human beings...how right he was!!

Loved them both....and Lauren and they bothe so deserved to be the last two.

Beastie 13-08-2012 11:00 PM

I actually didn't think Luke A was going to win. Thought it would have been Sara tonight. Don't think Luke A was voted for because he is a ******. He got that story out of the way at the beginning. I thought Luke A's and Adam's votes would have split. Think it just goes to show not many people have voted for this year's winner.

Beastie 13-08-2012 11:02 PM

I think Luke A wanted the acceptance. Don't think he thought he was going to win. Maybe a few years ago he could of thought he was going to win. Nowadays it's harder to call on the winner.

Maybe you should change the title to Good People :)
