Enemy of the NME ... Harry Styles
HARRY STYLES has been up for a fair few awards in the past couple of years but there can’t have been many where he has shared a category with the Prime Minister.
The ONE DIRECTION singer and DAVID CAMERON have both been nominated ahead of the NME Awards for the least desirable gong of the night – Villain Of The Year.
They are up against PSY, SKRILLEX, FRED MACPHERSON and AZEALIA BANKS.
Harry’s bandmates are also up for the Worst Band category, against ED SHEERAN, JUSTIN BIEBER, MUMFORD & SONS and, oddly, ALT-J and MUSE.
The ROLLING STONES, TAME IMPALA, HAIM and M.I.A lead the nominations with four apiece.
The Stones are up for the coveted Best Live Band alongside THE MACCABEES, THE CRIBS, BLUR, BIFFY CLYRO and FOALS.
They are also in the running for Music Moment Of The Year, where they face stiff competition including old pal DAVID BOWIE.
MICK JAGGER said: “When I first heard it was four things, I thought, ‘Ooh, blimey! That’s very nice!’ And it’s not a journalists-only thing.
“It’s funny, because when we were rehearsing at Wembley Arena last year, it was where we used to do the NME Pollwinners.
“We remembered, it was the first time we ever played Jumpin’ Jack Flash at one of those concerts.”
The event takes place on February 27.
The barmen have probably only just recovered from KEITH RICHARDS’ last visit.
