No Online Live Stream for CBB13

Quote:

Channel 5 have stated on the official Big Brother website that there will be no online Live Stream – despite the online feed doing well this summer. The live feed partially returned for Big Brother: Secrets and Lies and Celebrity Big Brother 12 between 12am and 2am. However this will not return with the new series of Celebrity Big Brother.

This comes after fans called for the live feed to be reinstated. Instead, producers will be 'focus on the nightly highlight shows' and 'social media platforms'. There will still be the live Twitter account for Celebrity Big Brother - @bbuklive

Channel 5 had previously aired Big Brother: Live From the House on 5* daily at the start of Big Brother: Secrets and Lies. However they axed the show due to poor ratings. Channel 5 then reinstated the Live Streaming on the official Big Brother website for the entire series. The 24 hour Live Stream was axed from the show in 2011 when Channel 5 took over the show. The channel then reinstated a partal Live Stream after Evictions with Big Brother: Live from the House in 2012.

Big Brother: Live from the House however airs on Channel 5 for half an hour after evictions for the new series. The first episode has been scheduled for 11:30pm on Friday 10th January.

Celebrity Big Brother returns to Channel 5 on January 3rd.

Just thought people might want to know. They haven't mentioned the 12am-2am feed at all unlike last year. It's gone.

One step forward - two steps back.

@bbuk_fans 18-12-2013 02:24 PM

Pretty standard now

24 hour feed has long gone tbh

Pete. 18-12-2013 02:26 PM

Utter arses and a rubbish answer. The highlight shows are like ****ing music videos and they not interact with us at all unless they think 3 comments at the end of a show is interactivity

Vanessa 18-12-2013 02:28 PM

I want my live feed. :nono:

fingers 18-12-2013 02:28 PM

They have what they think is a captive audience, and they're probably right! So long as the viewers keep feeding them money they'll do what they ****ing well like.

Someone on The X Factor tour must be going in

Ben Frow said that there will be no online feed for CBB except for the 30 mins after BOTS after evictions. He did however say that live feed will increase for BB15.

Brother Leon 18-12-2013 02:41 PM

I bet we will actually have a good cast now too, whereas the last one was crap lol

Really? Is there anything written down or on video? I can use it in the article then.

BigBrotherfan4ever 18-12-2013 02:51 PM

Gutted there no LF, that said when it was only on from midnight until 2 am I didn't watch it cause it far to late for me, I would much prefer to have it on earlier in the evening & for a couple hours in the afternoon ...,.tbh

Is there any kind of statistics on how well the online live feed was doing last year? I know they had to cancel the tv live feed because the viewing figures were too low. For all we know the online version could be getting even less and it just isn't worth their time broadcasting it.

Firewire 18-12-2013 02:57 PM

It's CBB. Y'all need to calm down.

mrmattybeck1 18-12-2013 03:18 PM

Not fussed at all hope its bck for civilian bb through:)

Jamesy 18-12-2013 03:30 PM

I'd rather see effort pushed for live feed during the main civilian series rather than CBB. There's not a lot of need for it for CBB really.

No real evidence, but I saw a couple of people say this after speaking to someone that works on BB, and they apparently said that this is what Ben Frow announced.

Take it as a pinch of salt obviously.

It was a lot for the site anyway. Not sure how much but the feed would break down nightly for a few mins, which is a good sign for demand. On certain nights where there were big events, the feed would keep stopping every second, eg. the day of and after Daley's ejection.

Not as bothered for CBB. They should repay this with giving us 24/7 live feed in BB15 though ;)

JohnnyBB 18-12-2013 07:56 PM

I find it dull most the time

Marsh. 18-12-2013 08:44 PM

I'm not bothered in CBB but their "social media" excuses are hilarious.

One clip every 12 hours is a huge workload for a team of 8 people apparently.

Not going to change

Jake. 20-12-2013 10:05 AM

Never bothered with it during CBB12, as long as we have it for the summer then I don't care (and we should do, Ben Frow said that it was getting 20k hits or something and that it was going nowhere)
