Last nights eviction show was a hot mess!
Honestly who the hell is producing this crap.
Probably one of the worst ones on C5 so far , I thought getting rid of the previous 'live show producer' was supposed to shake things up a bit ? I find it amazing how reluctant C5 are to just give us more highlights considering there is no live feed? Emma must have read out the numbers every five minutes, we had 'friends and family' AGAIN. Nobody cares about the friends and family? Its absolutely ridiculous , they come on, Emma asks them a couple of ridiculous questions, they get booed, they go off again. And the point was? Then of course we have the detestable Vote To Evict, where they still insisyt upon 'freezing' the vote lines and digging into more highlights time to 'save' housemates, but do we really need to know who got the 'least' votes under such a system? When it could simply mean said housemate was too boring or useless to evoke any emotion in the voting public to vote them out, thus giving the housemates the impression they are 'popular' in an unpopularity contest . This then leads us to Emma announcing the evictee with ridiculously long pauses. And in the end having about 8 minutes to interview the most controversial housemate of the series! Thus giving us what can only be described as an interview which was 'a bit crappy' . Please tell me I'm not alone here, I'm finding the live shows painful to watch. |
I thought it was a great eviction, really intense and loud. The interview was a little short, but it was a great nasty eviction.
|
I agree, the interview was way too short. However I found the show okay really overall.
|
I agree that there should be no saving or vote freezes on the live show ... vote freeze until recently only happened on double evictions and finals
Interviews are far too short as they have to squeeze in a not-so-game changing game changing twist I see no difference between last year's evictions and now |
The friends and family should stick to BOTS and only BOTS.
|
The style of the eviction shows is a lot different when you compare it to BB12/BB13. This time it's much more slick. I mean, we had Brian Dowling strutting down a catwalk to "Let's Go" on the BB13 launch night, and then again during an eviction.
Emma isn't to blame, and only does what she's told to do. I've heard numbers to vote read out more times in shows like BGT or IAC. I think they could remove the freeze and the friends and family bit because they are pointless... but the rest is fine. |

And I know its nothing to do with Emma, its just production. I am no BB purist, but the eviction shows look ridiculous compared to channel 4s ones, I actually liked the series where Davina announced the evictee from the studio  |

Lots of good points there.
When it's vote to evict - you are right - there is no need for such a tense build up for who stays - as HMs are not being saved due to their popularity - but due to voter's indifference towards them. When it's vote to save - it's worth the tension because it means something. And yeah, the long pauses last night were ridiculous - so was friends and family saying the same old things again. I thought the interview was alright, Emma was fine - but yeah - could have cut out friends and family to give more interview time. |
They should ditch the family and friends bit. I always ignore the TV when that comes on. It's so pointless.

Things that bored me last night.
The cathchup before the titles even role. the catchup of the week which takes up 5 minutes or more! the friends and family. Telling the housemates they have received less votes to me that's outside info. The interview, It was 8 minutes of talking about 1 incident which even Emma said on BOTS was her worst since Sallie AXL, she wasn't happy with it. Shcckingly Rylans interview was far better and he reeled her in and made sure she knew he was presenter. Then this wasn't BB's fault but Pauline taking about an hour to actually get her fat arse up the stairs with Marcus shouting "LEAVE THE HOUSE IMMEADIATELY!!!" like 5 times. Other than that yeah it was great. |

They need to have the 30 seconds countdown then housemates would know when they have to be quick.
|
yeah, they don't even give 30 seconds. they give like 10 seconds.
|
But yeah:
1. friends and family and vote freezing needs to go. 2. They need to get rid of the ****ing 10 minute catch up like seriously?! 3. All the breaks are annoying too. |
Go for a quick 15 minute walk just prior to the show starting so you can then fast forward all that bolloxy crap.
|
Totally with you on this. Friends and family are pointless. The numbers don't need to be read out so much either. The interview with Pauline was far too short
|
i didnt watch it. luckiy i didnt. not a fan of eviction nights anyway i just want the highlights then a 15 min eviction. not the dragged out clips/ advert/talk/ advert/talk/family/crowd/adverts/clip/eviction. zzz just give me the normal show then do the eviction
|
I can't disagree with anything you said tbh OP
|
if it wasnt for vote to evict Pauline would still be in the house, its the best way to vote
|
I think they need rid of the family and friends bit tbh. I felt sooo sorry for Paulines son. The crowd are awful at times...fine boo the housemates, but not their families :umm2:

You can get contraversial housemates who also have entertainment value and likeability, these are the ones who stay in VTS, Pauline would have been a goner no matter what ! There is actually a VTS poll on digitalspy where Pauline got considerably less votes than everyone else, even the insufferably boring ash ! |
I really enjoyed it but after reading the OP opening post I have to say there is merit in some of the points brought up.
Housemates friends and family bit is a waste of time and I would rather see more in house action. The eviction interview is also a bit too short. |
The friends and family annoy me too and also the catch up at the start I mean its good if you have missed a week but not if you have seen them all. I thought the interview was pretty bad as well ill like to watch Emmas interview on BBOTS as I didn't see BBOTS this week just the eviction show

And while I'm always up for a bit of drama - several weeks of unpleasant, smug-looking people getting their way doesn't really appeal as "entertainment". The rest of the OP I agree with, the live shows are a shambles. And Emma Willis is a great "improvisational" presenter. PRESENTER. Not interviewer or host. She is and always was brilliant on BOTS... She simply isn't cut out for interviewing evictees. That's been clear since her very first. |
