Day 40: Task - The Key To Survival

Things are about to get tough and housemates are going to have to get used to it.

The gang got a rude awakening this morning as they discovered Big Brother had stripped out all their luxury items including the toaster, sofas and plates.

Regular clothes were replaced with costumes, much to the disgust of one housemate in particular.

The group was called to the living room and Big Brother broke the news that times they are a changing. They will now be on basic rations - for breakfast that meant cold rice pudding which Helen admitted to quite enjoying.

Danielle on the other hand is not happy at all. "It sucks," she said. " I like home comforts. I don't like basic stuff." Deal with it Danielle.

There is a light at the end of the tunnel - albeit a dim one. Big Brother is going to give housemates a food task.

Their food for today is locked away in 11 cupboards. Using a giant bunch of keys they will have to unlock as many cupboards and they can in a limited time.
Each of the box is labelled e.g. ‘Protein’, ‘Carbohydrates’, ‘Vegetables’

But in a twist, the good are canned and there is one mystery box labelled with a ‘?’ that contains the tin opener.




Don't go anywhere. We'll keep you updated on what promises to be the hardest day in the House so far.

The last few days have been longer than a week in jail ,delighted that something is happening in the house .

Good it's about time they got a wake up call they've had it much too cushy so far.

HOW IT WORKS

There are 11 locked boxes, Each is labelled e.g. ‘Protein’, ‘Carbohydrates’, ‘Vegetables’. The housemates have a bunch of keys. One housemate at a time has 60 seconds with the bunch of keys and must open as many boxes as possible. There is one mystery box labelled with a ‘?’ that contains the tin opener.

EXAMPLE FOOD

1. Baked beans (Protein)
2. Chick peas (Protein)
3. Rice pudding (Dessert)
4. Green beans (Vegetables)
5. Mushy peas (Vegetables)
6. New potatoes (Carbohydrates)
7. Mushrooms (Vegetables)
8. Pease pudding (Protein)
9. Spinach (Vegetables)
10. Canned Pickles (Vegetables)
11. Black eyed peas (Protein)
12. Butter beans (Protein)

I thought. when they removed the sofas etc it was for tonight's F2F

Here's hoping they get loads of tins and no tin opener!!

3.21pm: It's lunchtime and the housemates are eating cold veggies and beans straight from the tins.


They must have found the tin opener.

I'm glad they are spending more effort on the tasks this year, like giving them Outfits atc

Omg when the new housemates walk in looking all fancy and dressed up, the HMs will look like this...

So it didnt really matter that Marlon lost them the shopping budget did it?

If they go in the house. maybe it's somewhere else.

Oh my god how amateur/cringe is that BB voice over?

"And housemates YOU BETTER get used to it!". Literally the hairs on my arms just stood on end in embaresment. If I was there I would have just shouted **** off you drama queen.

Makes Marcus Bentley sound like an angel.

They try and sound nasty but it comes across as spiteful and childish lol that woman who cant pwonounce her R's is the other voice over for the outside task, whoopee!!!!

Theres also another one who sounds like a man, Sallie axl called her a lesbian last year haha....Well ive seemed to gone off on a BB voice over rant.

I hate how melodramatic the voice has become this year.

Coupled with "the power is returning to the house" and "your lives will change forever" :worry:

and it never does :rolleyes:

Its so over the top, the producers cant grasp the less is more concept. Its allways to much or to little.

Example the first week shopping task with an assault course was to little hardly grabbed viewers attention.

An example to much is obviously the voice over but also putting tonight on at 10pm for 1 hour to fit in highlights, face to face noms, an eviction, and interview and 3 new housemates to enter.

PEJ may have made some big mistakes BB11 semi final being the main one but all is forgiven when I see how poorly the show has started to be handled.

6.48pm: HMs are complaining that they're bored. We're pretty sure they won't be when #BBArmageddon strikes in a few hours
