LeatherTrumpet 22-08-2014 07:26 PM

daniel-lewis-1985 22-08-2014 07:27 PM

Half cast? lol its 2014 you need to reword that to mixed race.

My nan says half cast but she's 80 so can be forgiven lol no excuse for a youngster to be saying it.

Marc 22-08-2014 07:28 PM

He is what

Brother Leon 22-08-2014 07:28 PM

Half cast FFS

He's mixed.

Marsh. 22-08-2014 07:29 PM

 Just like white people, not all black people are the same shade. They're not made in a factory.

Jarvio 22-08-2014 07:30 PM

Sorry if it seems racist/disrespectful, I was just wondering.

Me of all people woudln't be racist anyway, I aint white.

Flamingjoe 22-08-2014 07:35 PM

I'm pretty sure he's definitely mixed race.

So you can only be racist if you're White, is that what your saying?

FlippingEck 22-08-2014 07:38 PM

Who cares what colour/race/creed he is? Why is it important?

He's just interested. I don't understand what the problem is with the question or why the answer must be "important" for him to ask it.

It's like criticising someone for asking if someone's gay or not. It's just a simple question that the person is interested in knowing the answer.

Kizzy 22-08-2014 08:28 PM

I'd change the title to mixed race or you're going to have people remarking on that terminology all night.

Pete. 22-08-2014 08:29 PM

Black

LOL digging a grave much?

Headie 22-08-2014 08:43 PM

Half-cast means half-pure, so therefore that mean mixed race people must be 'half dirty' if they are 'half pure', if anyone was wondering why that term is offensive.

To answer the OP, yes. David is Mixed Race.

Northern Monkey 22-08-2014 08:52 PM

Lol.This thread.I did learn something though by reading it.I never knew 'half cast' was offensive.

Jarvio 22-08-2014 08:54 PM

Ok I've changed it to mixed race. Dunno how to change the title though

Kizzy 22-08-2014 08:57 PM

It's blatantly obvious that he's not white, so I don't see it's relevant if he is black or mixed race. Asking if someone is gay is not the same at all.. you cannot see someone's sexuality instantly.. you look at david and you clearly see he is not white.. why does it matter what his heritage is?

CaudleHalbard 22-08-2014 09:20 PM

Often when you fill in an official form you gave to state your ethnicity. It is regarded as relevant.

Only for the purposes of statistics.. it is actually illegal to discriminate someone for their skin colour.. not sure if you knew that..

If it's that interesting, David's mum is English and his Dad is Jamaican, therefore he is mixed race.

ruiphillips 23-08-2014 08:37 AM

Sis he's mixed
