Fortitude

Quote:

Fortitude is a British drama television series created and written by Low Winter Sun's Simon Donald. [1] A first 12 episode season was commissioned by Sky Atlantic in 2013, and will air in January 2015.[2] The series is set in Arctic landscape with a close-knit community and will be filmed in both the UK and Iceland.[3]

Actor Stanley Tucci will appear in his first British television role as DCI Morton, a detective who has flown in to the peaceful close-knit community of Fortitude, as the local head of police, played by Richard Dormer, leads an investigation into a murder. Christopher Eccleston also joins the cast as an English Scientist who heads up the Arctic Biology department at the Fortitude Arctic Research Centre. [4] The Killing star Sofie Gråbøl will play the Governor of Fortitude in her first UK TV role. [5] Also Michael Gambon will appear as Henry Tyson, a wildlife photographer who only has weeks left to live.

I'm really excited for this.

I'm currently watching the original Danish version of "The Killing" so I'm excited about Sofie Grabol.

Mokka 21-01-2015 09:51 PM

:cheer2:

I'm almost halfway through the first season. I accidentally spoiled the killer for myself online, but there's still two more seasons afterwards that I can watch un-spoiled. :laugh2:

I'm finding it much more compelling than the American version, which, while I enjoyed it, definitely ended up dragging (though I absolutely loved Season 3, easily the best season of the US remake for me).

I watched the behind the scenes show last night. Cant wait for this, lots of weather and some good actors plus that dirty Danish bird.

Nasty

Looking Forward to next weeks

LeatherTrumpet 30-01-2015 08:40 AM

Well it was gripping and had lots of weather which was good but they did not specifically say it was Iceland, not sure why. The first ep cost 25 milliion squid!. It was a bit of a mish mash of everything happening and lots of mysterious people all being mysterious and thank goodness for the UK?USA cop at the end adding a little levity which it really needed. Still - looking forward to next week.

Definitely intriguing and a little bizarre. I'm interested into seeing how things unfold. :)

And it's so surreal having Sarah Lund, Albus Dumbledore, The Doctor, Beric Dondarrion and Caesar Flickerman all hanging around in the Arctic. :laugh2: :worship:

Spitsbergen, Svalbard.

(Yes, I just wiki'd that ).

It was so fitting that we got heavy snow on the same night this premiered.

This show....

What is going on? It is one of the most cryptic programs I have ever watched.

Spoiler:

Why did Christopher Eccleston's character have to die off the top? I was really looking forward to seeing him long term in something.

Niamh. 09-02-2015 09:12 AM

Just watched the first episode last night, I thought it was really good, very promising

Iceman 09-02-2015 02:07 PM
