Stephanie Nala asks Twitter: "What is Ebola?"

Former X Factor contestant Stephanie Nala got Twitter users in a twist after using the microblogging site to ask what Ebola was.

The 20-year-old from Cheryl Fernandez-Versini's Girls category - who was eliminated after coming bottom of the public vote on Sunday's Live Results Show - tweeted in all sincerity: "What is Ebola?"

She swiftly deleted the post after being labelled "ignorant" by fellow users, with others questioning how she could be unaware of the current crisis sweeping across the globe.

Nala then added: "Lol I've learnt to google things before tweeting."

The reality TV star, who reached the final of Britain's Got Talent with the now-defunct band Luminites last year, had previously been saved following Deadlock during the first Live Show.

Cheryl also lost contestant Chloe Jasmine on Sunday, and spoke of her disappointment onXtra Factor to host Sarah-Jane Crawford.

On Nala, she added: "She's very distinctive. It's one of those finding tunes... and with the themes you have to be very, very careful with Steph because her voice is so distinctive.

"On a record you would automatically know it's her but on stage with the themes it kind of hindered her a little bit. That's what I think happened

You'd have thought she was in the Big Brother house for a couple of months.

No  Braden is saying that you'd think that she'd have been isolated from the mainstream news etc., like you are in bb.

Or she trying to be relevant

To be fair she doesn't seem the brightest spark, all these little squeals clapping hands and talkin in a baby voice. So it's hardly surprising she doesn't know what it is. That said I know Ebola is a virus that's killing some people and I know the symptoms but I don't specifically know what it is, how it travels, whether it airborne whether it could mutate etc so she could possibly mean that?

Jamesy 24-10-2014 09:22 AM

A lot of people really don't know what it is. They just know of it, not about it.

Maybe she's aware of it but doesn't exactly know what it is...

LeatherTrumpet 24-10-2014 09:23 AM

they know its a contagious disease from Africa

or at least they do if they are not walking around with their heads up their arse taking selfies and googling themselves

LukeB 24-10-2014 12:10 PM

least she learnt her lesson now.

Mystic Mock 24-10-2014 05:01 PM

Ebola is not airborne, Doctors and the Governments are concerned that it might go airborne with each host that it spreads to.
