£20,000 bet on Fleur East to win!

One ballsy punter has bet £20,000 on Fleur East winner The X Factor 2014 this weekend.

A Ladbrokes customer placed the bet today, ahead of the first live show from Wembley Arena on Saturday night.

The male from Chelsea stands to double his money if Simon Cowell’s latest superstar justifies her position as the red-hot odds-on favourite at 4/11 to be named as this year’s winner on Sunday night.

Going into the weekend, Ben Haenow’s chalked up at 11/4 to be the act most likely to cause an upset, but despite having been the favourite to win since his first audition, punters have completely shunned Andrea Faustini recently, making him the rank outsider at 14/1.

Fleur also finds herself in prime position to land the 2014 Christmas Number One single as the 8/15 favourite to top the charts.

Jessica Bridge of Ladbrokes said: “Fleur’s flying high as the favourite and it’s impossible to see Ben or Andrea winning now. She’s peaked at the right time and punters are convinced she’s already got the title in the bag.”

She added: “Andrea might as well head straight to Heathrow rather than Wembley this weekend as he’s not got a hope in hell of winning.”

Idk, is this the biggest ever bet someone has made on X Factor? I know someone bet like £3000 on Lauren winning, and there was another big bet a few series ago but I can't quite remember who.

Err...what?... He put a bet on at 4/11 so "stands to double his money"? For his £20000 he'll win just under £7300 (total back £27300). So... yeah. Not exactly double. Or even half of double. :joker:

This is what is known as trying to "buy money". It's incredibly risky, and I hope he gets burned :hehe:.

lol exactly this!

He waits until she's the shortest price she's ever been for the whole series, and then lumps £20k on. Mug punter and deserves to lose the lot.

This poor guy if it doesn't work out! I put I nice tenner on Fleur at 10/1 so I'm rooting for her all the way but damn 20000 is a heck of a lot to bet on reality TV!

Hope this fellow has learned his lesson. Backing odds on favourites is throwing money down the drain.

He should have followed the Oracle, this man very rarely loses, lol. I tipped and backed Foggy (won at 8/1) Ben (won at 12/1) and left to go for my triple crown is Caroline Flack on the dancing but only got 5/1 on her.

Please check back on my posts as they are well read and slagged off at the same time. I don't need to lie as there are so many followers that snipe and congratulate me at the same time.

warrenhill 15-12-2014 05:12 PM

Maybe he was covering a bet he had on Ben at bigger odds......

I covered mine that i had on Fleur.....
