R.I.P Jackie Trent.
Jackie Trent singer/songwriter has died aged 74.
This is a loss that really saddens me, this lady wrote some of the most inspiring and excellent lyrics to songs in my view. Being a great fan of Petula Clark,I am really sad to hear of Jackie's death. With Tony Hatch she wrote beautiful songs like 'I Couldn't Live without Your Love', 'Who Am I', 'Colour My World','Don't Sleep In The Subway','The Other Man's Grass','Don't Give Up', all hits for Petula Clark, as well as numerous album tracks for her too. She scored a number one herself with 'Where Are You Now' in 1965. Sinatra also recorded her songs among many other great singers too. Amazing singing and songwriting career,a lady I was fortunate to meet too, someone from the music world I am really sad to learn has gone. RIP. |
OMFG I thought this was about Jackie Travers for a second.

She wrote many more, Val Doonican an Irish singer got to number 2 with one of her and Tony Hatch's songs, 'What Would I Be'. I am crazy about 'Don't Sleep In The Subway' and 'I Couldn't Live Without Your Love', those are 2 masterpieces for me lyrically. |
R.I.P
Hopefully she's gone to a happy place Joey. |
