*The Official BB16 Ratings Thread*

It's that time of the year again to start a new ratings thread as the launch date has now been announced. Here we will discuss the ratings across the entire series and make comparisons to previous years.

Big Brother: Time Bomb is set to launch on Tuesday 12th May 2015. Giving us the second Tuesday launch, since the move to Channel 5, and the earliest ever Big Brother launch.

Big Brother 13, back in 2012 launched on a Tuesday, with the launch show rating almost 3 million, at 2.93m. Who knows, maybe this Tuesday launch is a good move, ratings wise.

Hopefully, BB16 will get higher ratings than last years dire series, which averaged just under 1.6m, at 1.57m.

The post below will contain all the official launch ratings, final ratings, and series averages over the last 15 years of Big Brother.

Why did BB6 get lower than BB5 and BB7 when it was better than both of them

Daniel. 15-04-2015 07:33 PM

BB13's launch getting the highest rated C5 launch so far :clap1:

Shame it didn't get better ratings than BB14, it was far better

Jason. 15-04-2015 07:36 PM

So what do we think this year's launch will get?

Last years first launch got 2.43m, slightly higher than BB14's.
The second launch flopped though.

Hopefully, this year we won't have another split launch.

I'm going with 2.5m for the launch, as it's launching earlier, and the success and controversy, as well as the attention the show got back in January, during CBB15.

If they promote really well, like they did for CBB15 (Billboards, etc), then I don't see why it shouldn't get much higher than 2.5m.

Tbh I think 2m is about as high as it will get. The second launch only got 1.6m last year.

Daniel. 15-04-2015 07:41 PM

Didn't it flop because the housemates on the first launch were so samey?

Well, I think they can get much higher than 2.5m.
BB13 almost got 3 million, and the first two years of BB on C5 were much more trashy.

It depends on what it's up against.
BB13 did launch on a Tuesday, so that might have helped it, in a way.

There is already s thread lol

I think the bad cast last year had people turning off very early.
Even the first week of BB15 rated badly, and the first few weeks of the show were decent.

I think people didn't like the Power Trip theme, and what it had to offer.

Didn't see. Sorry.
The other one seems outdated, and was made very early.

I had the same thought. BB13 deserves to be the highest rated C5 civilian series imo. :hmph:

zakman440 15-04-2015 07:54 PM

Hoping that there isn't another split launch, in which case I reckon that if they promote it well then it may get a rating around the 2.3m mark. If it is split and they promote it well, I reckon Launch 1 will get around 2m and Launch 2 will get 1.7m.

At least we know it's the best and a timeless classic :clap1: when will BB2?

Jay. 15-04-2015 07:59 PM

*looks on online list*

18 people max maybe idk

Jason. 15-04-2015 08:07 PM

Does anyone else know how BB13 got almost 3m on launch?

I loved BB13. Best C5 series, but the BB14 launch was better, IMO, and had a great buzz and hype to it, butt the rating fell by 0.6m, compared to BB13's launch.

Considering BB13 was up against The Sport for most of its second half or so and about three people watched Caroline's eviction, I don't think 1.6 million's too bad. Still, they should have done what they're planning on now and aired it earlier in the year.

BB13 actually rated far better than BB14 did for about the first five weeks.
It was getting 1.8-1.9 averages, till about Week 7, when the Olympics tarnished the ratings, giving it 1.6m overall.

Not to mention, two episodes of BB13 had the lowest ever viewed Big Brother episodes in the history of the show, and got less than a million.

I think one was the highlights before the final. So that definitely didn't help the overall rating.

Not even the World Cup tarnished BB15's ratings that bad.

:clap1: at attempted murder in the house making the ratings slay.

What do we think BB16 will average, overall?

I'm going for 1.8m, overall.
Higher than BB15, but slightly lower than BB14.
