TNA Wrestling Enters Final Days

WZ has learned from TNA sources and wrestlers that many talents, some veterans, are fearing the company is approaching its final television taping dates.

It was previously reported TNA would be filming from July 22-29 in Orlando for television. An email from TNA officials sent to talents reveals two weeks worth of television will be filmed on many of the July dates.

This, along with the upcoming content filmed this week heading into Slammiversary, would generate enough first-run content to take TNA Impact Wrestling into September. This is the same month Destination America can activate a contract clause ceasing their agreement with TNA Wrestling. Ever since signing Ring of Honor was added to Destination America, the subject of the network dropping TNA has become a hot topic scenario from people both in and out of the company.

On top of the unusual amount of filming being done at the end of July, comes the problems with payment, communication and treatment.

Previously, talents were once again not paid when expected. This past Friday, an internal email was sent out promising late payments would be sent via FedEx overnight. This did happen, but is not the first time the roster has dealt with this.

The mass quantity of July dates have talents worried they won’t get paid for at least a month following the tapings, which is considered unacceptable considering the company has far fewer expenses now that they aren’t touring much anymore. The add-on of a week of dates also forced many talents to cancel previously scheduled independent bookings in which they would be paid in advance or on the night of.

As far as communication goes, emails sent to talents remain optimistic and claim the upcoming television dates are for domestic and international television. However, per our sources, many fear the writing is on the wall in regards to how much life is left in the TNA brand. It’s believed if the brand does get booted from Destination America, that they are damaged goods having left two networks in less than year, and don’t hold much hope for being picked up for a new television distribution deal.

RIP

Yes once Sting moved to WWE Special Events
I could see TNA going down

Once you stop getting FedEx Paying
then it time to get away from TNA
sadly and look for other work

Iceman 24-06-2015 09:34 AM

They had a good run. I can't see them making it to Christmas to be honest. Hopefully the Hardys return to WWE and end their careers their.

Tarryn 24-06-2015 11:36 AM

This company had such amazing potential.
2005 through 2010 they were better than WWE for me.
It had great talent like AJ Styles, Samoa Joe & Beer Money but when they started concentrating on bringing in so many ex-WWE it became so tedious to watch.
When Hulk Hogan came in they seemed to ditch everything that was special about TNA & try to make it more like WWE.
Sad to see another WWE rival going down.

BBfanUSA 24-06-2015 08:15 PM

Would really like to see Angle return.

Maybe he can wrestle part time and be a manager most of the time.

Ethan Carter III will probably return to WWE as Derrick Bateman but he'll probably be in NXT first.

Jeff Hardy will probably return at least in a Jericho type role (If Wyatt's heel then I forsee a situation where Wyatt attacks him), I don't know about Matt.

WWE might try to get the Wolves but I don't know about them. I know they did have a performance center session before joining TNA.

Knockouts wise, most will probably go to the indies or retire. WWE could go after Taryn Terrell. Gail Kim said she's never going back to E. Jade (Mia Yim) and Marti Belle will probably continue in the indies although Jade was a jobber on NXT like Blue Pants one time. It wouldn't surprise me if WWE brung back Kharma/Awesome Kong

Iceman 24-06-2015 08:19 PM

I imagine Jeff Jarett is trying to snatch these people up for Global Force Wrestling. It looks like Jeff Hardy won't make another TNA appearance until August. Will they still be around by then??

Also would Vince buy them for the back catalogue and archives and to say he put another company under?? Would he do another invasion angle? Sting leads team TNA against Triple H leading Team WWE??

BBfanUSA 24-06-2015 11:24 PM

Actually, it turns out that WWE Network's backlog of PPV are hardly watched.

I really don't see WWE doing another invasion angle with another company either, however I could see them doing an NXT invasion especially with Paige vs Bellas storyline and Owens vs Cena.

I'm not saying we could another Invasion storyline on the level of WWE vs The Alliance or similar though. We could just see more NXT people being called up more quickly.

Iceman 24-06-2015 11:26 PM

I just want Finn for now and then Hideo when he's healed.

I'd quite like to see an invasion angle done properly. The last one just fizzled out in the middle for me.

Hold up, huge news tonight.

Word is that Jarrett may be buying out TNA and it will be announced tonight

Iceman 24-06-2015 11:53 PM

You got a source or a dirtsheet???

BBfanUSA 25-06-2015 12:49 AM

TNA is live tonight fyi

Iceman 28-06-2015 08:31 PM

tnaAccording to The Wrestling Observer, TNA Knockouts Taryn Terrell and Awesome Kong will both be finishing up with TNA following Slammiversary tonight.

Both Knockouts’ contracts are expiring this weekend, and as of this writing tonight’s PPV will be their final TNA appearances.

The following is an updated list of names who have already finished with TNA or are finishing with the company following Slammiversary:

-James Storm
-Low Ki
-Magnus (expected to work the initial GFW tapings)
-Austin Aries
-Mickie James
-Gunner
-Sam Shaw
-Awesome Kong
-Taryn Terrell

At this point the releases are either a work, or the above names will be signing with GFW and the two promotions will be working together. I just don’t see how TNA can survive with 9 top company talents departing in one week.

Ramsay 28-06-2015 08:32 PM

Merge with GFW

Liam- 28-06-2015 08:38 PM

Send Kong back to WWE to finally decimate those twat twins

BBfanUSA 28-06-2015 08:55 PM

Kong denied the rumors that she is on twitter

Of course if she is leaving TNA, go beat up the Bellas

michael21 30-06-2015 11:02 AM

He is a Tricky one.

BB4fan 30-06-2015 01:28 PM

They need to do something I stopped watching a few months back.

That company had so much potential at one point.

Shocks?? I'm shocked when they do a live event. There are no shocks when you tape a month in advance. Shocks?? Like the fact that GFW are going to invade them. I can't wait to be surprised.

After his victory at the TNA Slammiversary pay-per-view, a win that saw him become the first ever TNA "King Of The Mountain" Champion, Jeff Jarrett is expected to bring the new TNA belt to his Global Force Wrestling upstart promotion and defend it there.

Speaking of Sunday's TNA pay-per-view event, there has been a lot of speculation that the show could very well have been the last pay-per-view in company history.

Bryan Alvarez of F4WOnline.com said it seemed like several TNA personalities -- such as Jeremy Borash and others -- were saying their "goodbyes" to the company during the show.
Chat yah later TNA

Iceman 30-06-2015 06:15 PM

Pro Wrestling Illustrated, one of the longest running pro wrestling magazines, announced this week that the publication is no longer recognizing the TNA World Championship as a World Title. The magazine announced going forward it will only be recognizing the WWE World Heavyweight Championship as a World Title.

Iceman 30-06-2015 06:17 PM

TNA is finished. Oh well let's just rebrand and call it GFW. These are definitely the final days.

Iceman 30-06-2015 06:19 PM

Also they have no ppv scheduled now at all.

michael21 10-07-2015 10:54 AM

double j has save the day tna tna tna

Iceman 10-10-2015 03:48 PM

More likely this is going to happen sooner rather than later.
