Xmas Day Ratings Were Terrible

http://www.digitalspy.com/tv/downton...-grand-finale/

No TV show had more the 6.5 million viewers which Downtown Abbey got for its final ever episode.

Last year shows were hitting 9/10 million viewers.

They can't be terrible if less people are watching TV than last year.

Ross. 26-12-2015 10:59 AM

Those ratings says different. They have been going down each year,

Denver 26-12-2015 11:17 AM

I blame the networks as they haven't put anything decent on this xmas

LukeB 26-12-2015 11:19 AM

Its been the same each year more likely, people chose not to watch tv and just spend time with their families eating and drinking

armand.kay 26-12-2015 11:19 AM

It's just the times are moving on people don't sit around and watch tv together anymore. Me and my sis left the others to watch East Enders but most the family stayed downstairs acting a drunk mess.

In this day and age when we have got the likes of sky+ and catch up tv, It's more likely that people are going to get pissed last night while they have got eastenders etc on record who are most likely watching all the programmes this morning. TV ratings will never hit massive ratings anymore i don't feel.

tbh I think Christmas TV this year has been much better than the previous years. It's 2015 though, and like Armand and Jack said, nobody sits down and watches much TV anymore, especially live TV anyway. Most people nowadays watch on their laptop, on-demand/catchup, compared to say ten/fifteen years ago.

Yeah 15 years ago if you wanted to watch the eastenders christmas episode you had to watch it on christmas day otherwise you missed it but now you can watch it whenever so it's not important for most people to sit down and watch it live anymore.

Well Done ITV1HD Downton Abbey

Tom4784 26-12-2015 11:51 AM

The overnights are misleading. People simply aren't watching shows live any more. Most people prefer to record or use catch up to watch TV.

We never watch tv on xmas day. Me and my sister don't live at home so it's the only time of year we're all together, so we just spend the day eating/drinking/chatting/playing games and of course, arguing

They could do all that last year and yet Eastenders was nearly two million ahead.

EastEnders would still come out on top as they didn't count the BBC3 figures
