Big Brother UK 17 - General Discussion Thread

http://i2.wp.com/celebmix.com/wp-con...size=758%2C426

This is just a thread for us to discuss news about the series, our opinions about the series once it airs etc. This is NOT an episode discussion thread, it's simply just a thread for us to discuss our opinions about the series, talk about the latest news etc.

Thought it would be a good idea to make it since often many threads are made throughout the series which make the flow of discussion harder to follow in multiple different threads, and it's a way of keeping series information organised as well as talking about the series itself with other members. Plus we're supposedly getting some news revealed about the series tomorrow/Wednesday according to Rylan.

What we know so far:

No shade its a good idea, but why do we need this, every little thing gets a new thread on it anyway

For people to discuss EVERYTHING without being told they're going off topic in threads dedicated to specific things.

Glenn. 30-05-2016 01:15 PM

Kill the hater with fire

Daniel. 30-05-2016 01:16 PM

Is it meant to stop threads being made for different things and just keep it all in here?

That's why I made it tbh - especially since most of the time it's hard to say your opinions on individual housemates unless you make a thread for it - and if it's a negative opinion you can't post it in their fanclub etc.

Ross. 30-05-2016 01:19 PM

Basically it's a thread that Jason can derail freely and won't be told off for it

No, obviously you're gonna make House Pic threads, noms threads etc. It's just for a general discussion of the series i.e. things you wanna say about the series but it's not worth making an entire thread over just to get your opinion across.

Daniel. 30-05-2016 01:20 PM

No sign of theme tagline this year (i.e. S&L/Power Trip/Timebomb). Did they scrap it or do they usually reveal it in PR/teasers one week before? I can't remember from previous years.
"The game is changing" doesn't count...
This time they have a big change and a new game so I guess they don't need to classify it that obvious.

Greg! 30-05-2016 01:33 PM

I can't believe it's the first series since 2012 without a theme :worry:

Rob! 30-05-2016 01:34 PM

Here for this thread bringing an end to all the pointless polls about ex housemates

Will. 30-05-2016 01:34 PM

I love this idea to have a general thread, like if there's a small question you have to ask you can just post in here :flutter:

Great thinking, Hayden

Lostie! 30-05-2016 01:41 PM

Ready to spread my opinions throughout this thread.

I hope we get a varied cast in regard to ethnicity, sexuality, etc.

I know it shouldn't matter because a good housemate is a good housemate regardless of any personal attributes, but I personally would find it quite nice if Britain was truely reflected in an accurate way based on a diverse bunch of housemates.

Pete. 30-05-2016 01:45 PM

I hope Channel 5 have coughed up enough money for Gina this year

Jason. 30-05-2016 01:45 PM

Tbh idc if we have an ethnically diverse cast or not as long as it's a good bunch of housemates who are capable of carrying the series themselves without the producer's constant need to meddle and engineer conflict then I'll be happy. BB13 had that.

Samm 30-05-2016 01:45 PM

I'm here for the relative twist!

Yeah I agree - the last few series haven't really been that reflective of the UK at all imo

Jason. 30-05-2016 01:50 PM

(ik this is off-topic but here for Hayden's Lost era)

I can't wait to see the new exterior set :amazed:

I'll be kinda sad if it's indoors tho

MB. 30-05-2016 02:15 PM

I hope it's indoors #Justice4ChloesFireworks

Ashley. 30-05-2016 02:20 PM

Yeah I sure to god hope the new exterior set isn't indoors.

I do

Smaller audiences > scummy crowds

Jake. 30-05-2016 02:25 PM

We need a cast that can actually carry the series without meddling. BB10 was the last series to truely have that.

Jack_ 30-05-2016 02:25 PM

Talking of new sets, apparently BOTS genuinely does have one

http://www.bbspy.co.uk/bb17/news/053...ff-rylan-clark

Lostie! 30-05-2016 02:26 PM

I'd be so happy with the outdoor crowd being completely scrapped but I don't see that happening so I hope they at least exercise some crowd control.

Jake. 30-05-2016 02:29 PM

I want all announcements to the house made in the indoor set with the crowd being told to be kept quiet. I know the "no contact with the outside world" rule isn't really a thing anymore, but it'd be great if the housemates didn't know the crowds reaction.

I'll believe it when I see it

Jason. 30-05-2016 02:33 PM

I still want a crowd tbh, I just wish they'd control it like C4 did. C5 seem to encourage them to make as much noise and boo as possible and it just cheapens the whole atmosphere and makes it much more hostile. It's become more a mob as opposed to a crowd and the "OFF" and "WHO ARE YAA" chants are all levels of attrocious and it's just insulting to the evictee who is being interviewed.
