Is coleen homophobic?

My daughter doesn't like coleen as she believes she is homophobic or doesn't agree with gay people marrying. Can anyone confirm this? I think she spoke about it on loose woman. Wonder if anyone knew why she said this? My daughter is a lesbian. R.

Deary me

I think I have heard she does hold those views about gay marriage.

Its a tough one, because whilst thats clearly a homophobic view I do not think that necessarily means the person themselves is homophobic. For example..my grandma was against gay marriage as she was stupidly religious (to the point where she would stress for days if we didn't say prayers before bedtime and such) and used the 'adam and eve' crap to justify it. But she had no problem with gay people in general and she ****ing loved my best mate who was gay, and flamboyantly so and he made no secret and literally told everyone on first meeting. So I would be uncomfortable calling her homophobic despite her clearly having a homophobic opinion on one matter, if that makes sense?

Of course Colleen could have also showed other sides of homophobia that I am not aware of...

LeatherTrumpet 19-01-2017 02:29 PM

I am sure Coleen is not a Lesbian but then again she could be :suspect:, why does it matter thats what i want to know?

Ronald. 19-01-2017 02:31 PM

I believe she's only in the mood for dancing with men, not women. R.

Ronald. 19-01-2017 02:32 PM

It's difficult as I know people who don't agree with the marriage part. MY daughter used to watch coleen every day on lose women but that comment changed her mind of her. I understand why. Everyone is allowed an opinion but it difficult sometime to like someone with an opinion you dont agree with. R.

When she's throwing them of buildings, let us know.

Ronald. 19-01-2017 02:41 PM

You don't have to show agression to be homophobic. If she has these views and spreading them on TV it ok to have an opinion and shes paid to do this but worrying if it influences other people on how they might think. R.

Who knows, who cares. Why are we all preoccupied with knowing everyones business anyway. Cant people have personal views.

LeatherTrumpet 19-01-2017 02:46 PM

I wonder if the homophobic brexit bitch is a racist too?

These things tend to come in threes

Yes but she makes it our business to know her business. She is quite literally paid to talk about her life.

We are allowed an opinion on her opinion. R.

This is true. Many people aren't pro gay marriage but have no problem with gays at all.Depends on your views on what marriage is more than anything else I suppose.

She's a woman who makes a living out of airing her opinions on a panel show every lunchtime. So she makes them everyone's business.

The opinion being discussed in this thread is one she has chosen to share on a number of occasions with the nation.

Therefore people are equally entitled to comment on it.

If it was a private opinion we wouldn't know about it to say anything would we?

Oh yes, comment on what she's said and what you have proof she said, but no one has a right to know her beliefs she chooses to keep to herself

Yet what's being discussed in this thread are beliefs she has openly discussed.

So the beliefs she's kept to herself have no relevance. This isn't one of them.

Our Coleen is not homophobic!
