Katie Hopkins' colleagues CHEERED after she'd been 'sacked'
 

Social media is divided over the alleged sacking of Katie Hopkins from LBC.

But, according to one BBC journalist, her former colleagues at the radio station erupted into "massive cheers" after receiving an email confirming the news.

Gloating via Twitter, the corporation's media editor, Amol Rajan, wrote: "Am very reliably told there were massive cheers + applause in LBC newsroom when staff received email about Hopkins".

His message was liked and re-tweeted by hundreds of people, who delighted in his apparent joy at the 42 year-old's departure.

Several hours earlier Rajan also claimed he had the "scoop", but was able to substantiate it to his editor's standards.

"I had Katie Hopkins scoop yesterday. Phoned LBC. Useless response. Needed 2nd source. BBC rules mean I couldn't do it. One of those things."

However, while many followers shared his delight, others were more critical. One wrote: "Because they [LBC], like the BBC are appeasing cowards who are afraid of the truth and can't handle someone telling the truth."

Another said: "Well they won't have an audience soon," while a third chimed in: "Striking her down just makes her stronger."

A fourth waded into the fray, saying: "The religious ideology that killed these people with bombs and nails is "hate" [not Hopkins]. It's sad you are oblivious to the difference."

The decision to discontinue Hopkins' affiliation comes in the same week that she called for a "final solution" to Islamic extremism, following the Manchester attack on Monday evening.

The sickening attack saw 22 people killed and dozens injured after a suicide bomber detonated a device as concert-goers left the Manchester Arena.

Some social media users are already suggesting Hopkins will next score a lucrative contract from Fox News.

My thoughts on Hopkins aside that is very unproffesional to tweet that staff cheered as someone being sacked.

Even if they did cheer why broadcast it?

Tbh I expect it's the fact that the horrible troll has been the voice of their radio station. I'd cheer too. It's hardly the reputation the company would want to keep.

I don't get why people still give her the time of day, yet alone a platform to spew her bile from? Her act wore thin about five years ago.

She said what was needed to deal with muslims was a ''final solution''.

Those were the words that the Nazi Party infamously adopted to describe their persecution and eventual annhialation/murder/'ethnic cleansing' of millions of Jews.

She did backtrack and edit her vile post but you can't take back a heinous, disgusting post like that. Hopkins, if nothing else, is an educated woman and there's absolutely no chance that she didn't know the significance of those words when she posted them.

Her removal is long overdue. Why anyone ever gave her the time of day is beyond me. Good riddance to bad rubbish!!!

Like you say, she's an educated woman. She wouldn't reference the Final Solution and think it would be ok. I believe she just used an unfortunate phrase.

That's the point though; as an educated woman, we have to assume that she knew EXACTLY what she was saying. She's now trying to backtrack and claim that she had no idea that "final solution" was a loaded phrase to use. She's a liar. She was trying to be deliberately controversial - as usual - and took it too far.

I'm going to say something and it's a tad out there, but I'd say her views are due to her brain injury, she has no empathy and no filter, she hates compliments and any form of sentiment.

It's a shame their 'great leader' The Orange Cheeto doesn't feel that way then isn't it!

I agree with Kizzy, she's an out and out sociopath and I wouldn't want to know anyone who supports her.

So what was she thinking when she called for military gunships to be used on terrified and over-crowded refugee boats stranded in the meditteranean?
Also, around the time that there were dead refugee children washing up on european beaches after their boats had sunk, she referred to the children as 'cockroaches'.

It's ridiculous that anyone is still trying to make excuses for the disguting behaviour of this vile, disgusting excuse for a woman.
No doubt there will always be a job for her at one of those poor excuses for 'news' papers though. At least that means that no decent person will ever have to be exposed to her tiny-minded hate-mongering drivel again!:yuk:

I don't like the woman but at least we aren't living in fear because of her. She isn't murdering children and planning to murder others unlike many of the people and their descendants that we so casually allowed into the West - people hell bent on biting the hand that feeds them and we like the mugs we are welcomed them with open arms. And for what - to feed our inflated PC egos and belief we are bigger than them. Well that was worth it then.
