Films you were really excited for which turned out to be terrible?

I would say Wimbledon , being a tennis fan was really looking forward to it , but was boring.

Mystic Mock 28-05-2017 09:30 PM

Interstellar.

Knock Knock. I like Keanu and the trailer looked great. Ended up being one of the worst films ever.

Fetch The Bolt Cutters 28-05-2017 11:52 PM

Independence Day 2

I can't think of a film I have been so excited for be this bad before.

I've waited a while to see movies before and been bitterly dissapointed like Feast ll (I loved the 1st), The Descent Part 2 and Annabelle.

Owoaje1993 29-05-2017 02:16 AM

Batman vs superman

JerseyWins 29-05-2017 02:34 AM

The Purge (original) movie comes to mind right away. I loved the idea behind it but thought the movie was executed terribly.

y.winter 29-05-2017 05:45 AM

Alice in Wonderland 2010. Truly disappointing.

Toy Soldier 29-05-2017 07:21 AM

Xmen Origins: Wolverine.

Just horrible. I will be forever grateful to Ryan Reynolds for getting a proper Deadpool movie to save the character.

Owoaje1993 29-05-2017 07:38 AM

Big mammas house like father like son:The first one was amazing the second was ok but the third was just a complete epic cluster**** the first is the best they made the second and third wayyyy too kiddish

Will Smith's character wasn't necessary for the sequel

not 2 of my close friends teaming up against me

I haven't even seen the sequel... but I thought from the beginning that the Smith / Goldblum team up was needed for a successful sequel. When they couldn't get Smith on board it was just never going to work.

Anchor Man 2 : I had heard that it wasn't great before I saw it but I thought I loved the first so much this is going to be decent I'm sure, it can't be as bad as the reviews but it was, horrendous. I like to pretend that it never happened

Will Smith was a major part of why the first was good without him it was like a really inferior remake

It didn't feel like Independence Day it felt like a complete different movie with some of the cast from the previous film

It was more or less the same story over again but without Will

Vanessa 29-05-2017 09:52 AM

Wild wild west. I adore Will Smith, but that was a stinker of epic proportions :omgno:

I came in to say this too. I'm not even really a fan of the first one and I was actually pleased Will Smith wasn't in it  I just thought the idea they had for it sounded really good. They exectued it terribly though and everything, the acting/writing etc was absolutely awful.

Also, Prometheus. Was such a let down.

Toy Soldier 29-05-2017 11:49 AM

Iron Man 3. Well, I suppose only partially as Iron Man 2 was also pretty bad... But 3 was just straight up stupid. A slapstick comedy feat. Robert Downey Jr wrestling with his broken robot suit, and then Gwyneth Paltrow has super powers. No. Just... Just no.

The MCU films are generally of varying quality. Like I said, Iron Man 2 is also bad, and I struggle with the first Thor too. But Iron Man 3 stands out as being straight up unwatchable. If I'm doing my "Start to finish MCU binges" it's the only one I skip. Well, The Incredible Hulk too, obviously, 'cos as much as I like Ed Norton, that just isn't Bruce's Banner.

Nerve

Well it wasn't terrible just really cringeworthy.

LukeB 29-05-2017 12:55 PM

Batman vs superman

Wizard. 29-05-2017 12:59 PM

Alien Covenant. There just wasn't a lot going on really.
