Jeremy Corbyn With The Greatest Glastonbury Performance Of All Time

Corbyn now prime minister of Glastonbury, all luxury tents under state ownership, tax on wellies, foam fingers for the many, not the few.

No anti-democratic protests today- You can't be buggering about smashing the system when there's a a middle-class music festival to attend.

Absolute hysteria. This man hasn't even proved himself yet. All he has done is call for the youth to support him and make a lot of promises.

I despair of how easy it is for people to idealise someone in these challenging times from wannabe idiots on reality shows to wannabe PMs with nothing more than a few promises. Low standards all round.

It's a touch disturbing how gullible the youth is.

This is massively aggressive politicking on Corbyn's and Labour's part. Using Trump too, wow, Corbyn's Labour have upped their game. The Tories need to take note!

We are becoming more and more like the US politically.

Yes I can completely agree with that. Whoever is advising him is definitely earning their wage.

joeysteele 24-06-2017 06:35 PM

Good on him.

For way too long the younger electorate and future electorate have been ignored by politicians.
This is a good move and more to the point,a very natural thing for him.
This is what he does to good effect and his sincerity as to it is recognised by such younger people.

It's not them being gullible at all, it is that he can and does engage with them
By talking 'to' them and not 'at' them.

He is playing up to the youngsters because he knows how gullible they are. Pretty sickening really.

They know who to go after, and they're relentlessly doing so! Corbyn, who's fundamentals are actually quite worrying, is no longer being billed as a 'ageing politician', he is being written for and billed as a A-List Celebrity.

Very Obama -esque.

So this is about attention is it. He is using them and they are revelling in his unproven promises.

No it isn't. It's a few words from a joke, that you've cut off away from the joke, and given them a label.

parmnion 24-06-2017 06:58 PM

The audience are all off their tits, probably think its the wickerman.

I smiled at the joke and don't have an issue with that, just wanted to reiterate this particular point because I'm pretty tired of seeing it (especially on Twitter)

Inside or outside of the joke, 'anti-democratic protests' is still an oxymoron. And the real irony is that those who perpetuate it are actually anti democracy

The 'Oh Jeremy Corbyn' chants are tragic

Fair play to him, his transformation has been remarkable in the last few months and Glastonbury has always been a political festival but it is interesting how the cult of personality around Corbyn becomes bigger and bigger. For many of Labour's new and young supporters he is as synonymous with Labour now as Ukip were with Farage
