Lotan was underrated.

At the start of the season Lotan had a lot of sense and was often the voice of reason. He became respected and the alpha male because he had good advice [kinda similar to Deborah as a female figure later on in the season]. He was also an entertaining character. I admit I didn't like how he treated Izzy and he got a bit cocky [but as did Chanelle when popularity hit her, so its not much different].

As an actual Housemate though he was largely responsible for one of the best weeks of big brother, and like Isabelle helped cement a divide and caused a really interesting week of big brother. The divide was so interesting to watch I thought, and as soon as Lotan left possibly the most boring week of big brother occured and the highlights typically existed. The following week was then just Smellie. As a housemate he is very much underated, as a person however I didn't really like him, but hes really not as bad as people say. Everyone has been aggressive in that house, and he also made Isabelle really likable, and was responsible for a really interesting voting divide even with the british public [Pro Isabelle or Pro Lotan/Anti Isabelle - which was interesting to watch]

He just bullied Isabelle, he was like Conor

Dominic 29-07-2017 09:46 PM

He was awful and sexist

DouglasS 29-07-2017 09:47 PM

Without him the show got boring though. Almost everyone on this forum are in agreement the week following Lotans ejection was one of the worst ever. The week then following that was full of Smellie and wasn't amazing. It picked up in the Suemone week again, but BB18 had two dud weeks, as both Rebecca and Lotan leaving was a big hit to the dynamics of the house.

I'll take Smellie any day of the week over Lotan literally just stringing her on and letting her make a fool out of herself for his own amusement.

That was because they all got warnings and didn't want to get kicked out?

Also he was vile

DouglasS 29-07-2017 09:49 PM

Just making it clear I'm not a fan of Lotan but I just caught up on BBUK and saw clips from when Isabelle won and I laughed watching quite a lot of the drama of fight week.

lewis111 29-07-2017 09:49 PM

He was the reason Isabelle became a HM - he was the one gunning for her to go in
Which gives him like 20 points but then he bullied her so he went back to being scum again

Epic. 29-07-2017 09:49 PM

He's Conor with a god complex

Withano 29-07-2017 09:49 PM

Lotan was hideous and completely detracted from my enjoyment in the show. The fact he has >1 fan almost proves he's one of the most overrated housemates ever.

umm No..Raph wasn't ever aggressive,Imran and Isabelle weren't aggressive either..

He was an excellent housemate. There were some things he did that he shouldn't have, but he was nowhere near as bad as he has been made out to be.

Littlegreen 29-07-2017 09:56 PM

I didn't like the arrogance, he truly felt like he was above everybody else in there.

Adamw92 29-07-2017 09:56 PM

No.

reece(: 29-07-2017 09:57 PM

He was a plot device that expired.

Jedman 29-07-2017 10:08 PM

I actually quite liked him, he had a bit of depth to him which came across in some of the conversations he had, the only thing I didn't like was when he got overly bitchy towards issabelle.

He went to far in his dislike of issabelle which let him down.

Underscore 29-07-2017 10:09 PM

He was overrated for the first week or two but his good looks didn't end up making up for his bad personality

Parallel 29-07-2017 10:09 PM

Lotan was horrific, and that's all I can contribute to this thread.

Samm 29-07-2017 10:18 PM

no

Vicky. 29-07-2017 10:33 PM

I know he is massively unpopular on here, and I won't deny he is an utter dickhead, but he was an amazing housemate tbh. He shaped the whole series, and he was the reason for isabelle winning too

Lush 29-07-2017 10:34 PM

He is literally everything I hate in a person, a bully, cocky, conceited, sexist. The typical alpha-male "lad" type who picks on those he thinks are weaker or different to himself in order to fuel his own ego.

I don't think he was a good housemate and most definitely not a good person. However I suppose he did serve his purpose as the focal point of the bad side of the divide, and he made Isabelle's win so much sweeter by being the one who mocked her and belittled her place in the house so much in her first few days.

I guess he was the villain in the storyline and the antithesis to the incredible person that Isabelle was. However he wasn't a panto villain in the way people like Grace were, and he was just too vile to be considered even remotely entertaining.

RhysJones 29-07-2017 10:37 PM

Lotan was ok at best before fight night week, then he became one of the vilest housemates i have seen. In my mind, Helen doesn't come close to him. The way he treated Isabelle was disgusting and he got what he deserved. And i would take Ellie and Sam over him for another week

His vileness cements him as a terrible HM.

Pretty much everything before Isabelle came into the house was an act, we saw the real Lotan come out in his misogynistic bullying of Issy.
