Celebrity Big Sister: Bosses plan huge change up for CBB21 [Female-only housemates?]

Quote:

CELEBRITY Big Brother might have to change its name, as I can reveal plans for an all-female series.
Producers are on the lookout for the strongest personalities in showbiz, as Channel 5 dedicates a season of programmes to celebrate 100 years since women won the right to vote.

A TV source said: “Channel 5 wants to make a real splash as part of their women’s vote celebrations.

“They are keen to cast opinionated women like GERMAINE GREER over no-mark reality TV girls who look good but have little to say or bring to the conversation.

“Bosses are expecting cat fights galore, plenty of tension and clashing personalities.”

The change, scheduled for January 2018, comes after producer Endemol vowed to refresh the format of the long-running series amid strong competition from rival shows such as ITV2 hit Love Island.

Endemol’s Peter Salmon, the former BBC boss and husband of Happy Valley actress SARAH

LANCASHIRE, said: “Big Brother has got to last. You have to roll your sleeves up and renew it for a different generation.

“It is having a tougher *competitive time in the UK but it’s huge around the world.

“Love Island has been *sensational. If Big Brother is not on top form, we have to keep changing it.”

I’d be surprised if the new series has no men.

After all, the popularity of Love Island was all about romance.

Germaine back again Nn

Here for it though, men are typically bad housemates.

Poor Vanessa having no one to root for!

I could actually see this being a bad move for the Show. Something like BB8 (?) worked, because it was different and fresh but this would not I don't think.

Cal. 08-10-2017 08:53 PM

Oh a newbie series?

I was imagining a female All Stars with Nic. Tiff, French, Luisa, Kim, Nat, Faz, Pricey, Jue</3

BB8 didn’t “work” in regards to viewership anyway

Cal. 08-10-2017 08:55 PM

The audience has changed since then anyway.

This will be a success if they cast crazies.

Wizard. 08-10-2017 08:55 PM

Put Charley and Chanelle back in

I don't think the twist was very popular at all when it happened in BB8, so I don't expect it to be now.

That would be much better!

supertv247 08-10-2017 08:56 PM

This happening in BB8 was one of many reasons they gave for ratings soon dropping and then killing off the show on Channel 4..... :worry:

Although my favourites in CBB are always females and every time I pick an all star cast it is 90% female

They were always going to do that.

That was the point. Seeing a load of women and one stereotypically "attractive" boy.

Denver 08-10-2017 08:57 PM

Makes me laugh when they rumour ex housemates and make out they never appeared

That’s what I was laughing at, their logic is that Love Islands success is based on romance so let’s do the complete opposite! I mean I’m glad because I HATE CBB showmances, but what do they think a load of thirsty girls are gonna do? Put Mel C in!
