wishing death on a tv show, damn i'm a horrible person x

telling someone you’ve reported them after reporting them is also against the rules and RichardG wished death on a TV show not a human being so you’ve put your foot in it there

Is it?

Honestly, if they have to start skimping on the quality, then they might as well axe it.

bye drone shots and £4k bath tub

I wonder if they'll still cram another Celebrity BB in this year .

Cal. 08-02-2018 11:25 AM

Not paying so many bloody celebrities to do the show for no reason would also save money. 2017 had like 34 CBB housemates. That's A LOT of money to spend - especially when a lot of them probably contributed nothing. 10 celebs a series is fine and maybe one or two more a week into the series to add some excitement and freshness. But yeah, just signing for a January CBB and a summer civilian would save them a lot of money.

Or they could scrap the civilian version and just stick with 2 CBB 's every year :joker: .

Oh I just realised lol them cutting the price would only affect CBB23/BB20 ondwards wouldn’t it ah I misread and thought BB19 would have a price cut

I’m glad :hee:

I would be sad if they axed it, despite how much it’s changed I’d still rather have it than not.

supertv247 08-02-2018 07:04 PM

Let’s add some up...

In 2015 they spent over £1.5 million on 3 CBB housemates in January, then added £50k to the bbuk prize for no reason, then put a ton more promo and effort into CBB UK vs USA. Then in 2016 paid £1m for 1 CBB housemate, built a whole new house and studio set (with the biggest wraparound LED screen in Europe) then in 2017 paid for many all star housemates at near £500k for some, and then spent thousands on the BBUK house and revamped CBB house. Now they’ve just spent god knows how much on a whole new creative direction, drone shots and £40k bath tubs.

Basically my point is that a huge budget cut probably won’t even be noticeable moving forward  less expensive unnecessary furniture, 14 housemates instead of 18-22 for CBB, and they won’t need to spend as much on stuff like the house and set as they’ve managed to do it all before budget cuts.

So...
  • Only one CBB a year
  • Cheaper furnishing
  • Less celebs than normal for CBB
  • Less housemates for civilian BB
  • Shorter civi BB (if that's even possible:laugh:)
  • Cancel BOTS / shorter episodes / 2 BOTS a week
  • Kill task team again
  • Cheapest z-listers from RTV for CBB
  • Rigged/harder tasks to get housemates on basic budget
  • Downsize the live shows even further (=more backdoors)
  • Shorter highlight shows
  • 6 HL shows per week (old school BB)
  • Housemates growing their own food (chickens/veggies) - though it doesn't save much
  • Saying goodbye to Emma and getting low-budget Rylan to host the show
  • Smaller live shows' studio (not sure how it can help, when it's already the way it is)
  • No music
  • Less camera run guys
  • Housemates building their house by themselves (i.e. the dutch Utopia)

What else can they do to save money?

Mec 08-02-2018 07:26 PM

Them to have Emma prerecord all possible evictions during launch night and every housemate to leave via the diary room for their exclusive bots interview with Rylan on BOTS? :hehe:

The first 3 points would probably suffice tbh. The budget cuts won’t be that extreme :joker:

Housemates to reenact their best bits so editors don’t need paid to make them?

"Can't pay we'll take it away" to be filmed in the Big Brother house?
