Scottish Amber warning for Weds firmed up just now and a bit grimmer. Saying that places in East can now expect up to 40cm

marc is doomed

Chief Forecaster's assessment

Snow showers will bring variable snow cover, but parts of northeast England and Scotland are expected to see the most frequent and organised snow showers from Wednesday morning to Thursday morning. During this time, 5-10 cm of snow is expected quite widely. Where showers become organised though, most likely across Scotland, areas of 15-25 cm are likely, locally as much as 40 cm. Strong winds will lead to drifting of snow and severe wind chill, while lightning could be an additional hazard, particularly near coasts. This warning has been updated to include a greater part of the Central Belt and increase the impact level based on the latest information.

Been none in Edinburgh so far but I'm kind of perched for a winter storm

jaxie 26-02-2018 03:08 PM

Cats sat outside for about 10 seconds watching big flakes come down this morning, then their little paws got cold and they came in and hugged the radiators.

Kazanne 26-02-2018 04:49 PM

We've had some flurries , not sticking yet but it's bitterly cold.

About the cats Jaxie, can I pick your brains ? I have one that is now 6/7 mths old,I have kept her in until she was chipped and neutered, she is moaning at the door to go out,I let her out yesterday and today and she absolutely loves it, but I am scared to shut the door on her and have to chase her to get her in. Do you think she would go off if I shut the door,I am a but scared of losing her.Sorry LT,LOL back on topic, it's blooming cold.:hee:

Just tiny flurries on and off most afternoon here in North Wales but nothing at all now... Will see what happens as the night goes on.

Tozzie 26-02-2018 06:35 PM

had some flurries this morning and afternoon but not for long each time. So far no snow as yet here in Yorkshire. Urgh I hate snow especially when I have to drive to work, really don't like driving in the snow :-(
