Donald Trump to meet Kim Jong-un

Mr Trump said the development was "great progress" but that sanctions will remain in place until a firm agreement is reached.

North Korea has not yet issued any official comment on the week's developments.

South Korean National security adviser Chung Eui-yong, speaking outside the White House after the meeting, said: "I told President Trump that at our meeting North Korean leader Kim Jong-un said he's committed to denuclearisation."

He added: "President Trump appreciated the briefing, and said he would meet Kim Jong-un by May to achieve permanent denuclearisation.".....

They're playing right into each others hands...... and I have the perfect image for this comment, but it'd probably get infracted. :smug:

From what I gather of the past two or three weeks, North Korea are massively back-pedalling; presumably because the sanctions have gotten so much that they're literally starving. I can't see anything majorly beneficial coming of this meeting, but it's at least refreshing to know that we're a little further away from nuclear annihilation. Unless Trumpie gives him a wedgie, I guess.

Denuclearisation is so important - so much of taxpayers money go toward the military that if we were to stop investing in military we could end world hunger AND get the whole world running on renewable energy and have billions left over.

It's unfortunate when America is slashing healthcare and education while spending trillions on military
