Why did you start watching Big Brother?

I started watching because my mum watched it, so we used to watch it together and the first series I watched live was BB5 which is a bit stupid because I was young I probably shouldn’t have been watching it my mum the silly bitch! Who got you into B.B.?

my mum texted me (mothers getting us into reality tv, legends) saying “are you watching that tit perez on big brother?”

and i never looked back

Jake. 26-04-2018 08:05 PM

I started watching properly from CBB6, but I have a vivid memory of my dad letting me watch it and seeing Big Mac picking his nose

Daniel. 26-04-2018 08:10 PM

The first bit of Big Brother I ever saw was Kinga, Orlaith and Eugene entering Secret Garden, and saw bits of BB6. I saw bits of BB7 and BB8 too, but BB9 was my first proper series and BB10 was the first I made sure to see every episode.

Previous series I have seen I watched online, including BB6 and BB7 properly

Strictly Jake 26-04-2018 08:13 PM

I saw Makosi crying in a chicken suit in the diary room While channel flicking

Babayaro. 26-04-2018 08:16 PM

I can't even remember lol. I watched bits of CBB8 but BB12 was my first proper series. I might have seen the 'Bruv takes over' advert which could have made me watch it.

Babayaro. 26-04-2018 08:18 PM

I vaguely remember seeing Marcus () when someone was flicking through the channels lol

Cal. 26-04-2018 08:19 PM

It was just always on in our house (I have vague memories of BB6 before proper memories of BB7) but I started watching properly on my own in 2014 because I played a BB game on Digital Spy :p

To be honest with you from 2010-2014 I'd forgotten it even existed besides I did watch a bit of CBB12.

BB5 after the last episode of Friends.

RileyH 26-04-2018 08:37 PM

Ant. 26-04-2018 08:57 PM

LaLaLand 26-04-2018 09:03 PM

Because I remember seeing the adverts for it before it ever began back in early 2000, calling for people to apply for a whole new type of TV show where your every move is watched by the public over the Summer. The ad showed clips of what I now know was the guinea pig run.

I was like 9 years old at the time but it seemed like such a huge thing (and it was)!

On youtube I saw a clip of when Dani & Amber went on a game show on BBUS8. Then I decided to watch BB8 which was easily accessible on youtube at the time + other seasons. This was during the summer of BBUS12.

Aside from binge watching a few seasons that summer (and more over time), I was a very, very casual fan for a while (I got a few friends into it for like 2-3 seasons each but they all only liked BB12 and gave up on the show lol). But I slowly got even more into it and prob became sort of a "superfan" around BBUS16 before joining this site and starting to watch live feeds for BB17.

Raph being a member here and getting on to BBUK is what got me into the UK version which is a good show as well.

My BB timeline :joker:

Everything alright, hijaxers? I saw your post in the Avicii thread as well. Hope you're well

This thread makes me think.. it's kinda funny how things work sometimes. If a youtube clip of BB didn't show up & catch my interest I might've still never even known about any Big Brother shows. And now it's basically my favorite type of show!

Eddie. 26-04-2018 11:17 PM

I watched bits of Pinoy Big Brother back then on the telly but it came off as fake.

So I wondered what BBUK was like so I watched CBB11 and I liked it so I continued...

I eventually managed to cross on to the three other main English speaking versions (US, CAN, AUS)

Eddie. 26-04-2018 11:18 PM

Out of all four the Australian format is the best...

Jordan. 27-04-2018 12:08 AM

The earliest I remember is seeing an advert for BB6 and finding it really intriguing (that c4 promo ON POINT) along with the fact the show just felt popular and a big deal back in the day is probably why I started watching.

I think, i was flicking through the channels seeing what kid shows are on and saw Davina come up on the screen and remembered her from Pop Stars the rivals <3 so i just watched it and my mum let me watch it (i was 10) but she wasn't keen with me carrying on but i had a tv in my room so i could watch it secretly. I watched every episode of BB5 and carried on with every series even the celebrity version, i loved the show a lot and was gutted it was axed but now i be glad to see it off the tv.

Emma was my favourite during the launch but i was happy Nadia won.

Jack_ 27-04-2018 01:01 AM

Me and my mum were flicking through the channels during BB6 launch night when I saw Davina doing the house tour and thought 'oh this looks cool!', carried on watching and the rest is history

Weirdly enough I'd always seen 'Big Brother' listed in the TV paper in probably 2003/4 but the synopsis was like 'the housemates adjust to life inside the house' and I just thought it was some sitcom so never bothered watching :joker:
