BB Israel: Revival (BB has been evicted!)

BB Israel has been on for 8 series (+2 VIP) on Channel 22 since 2008.
Lately the channel has been closed and the two companies that were broadcasting under that channel have each opened their own separate channel.
BB has been under the production of the "Keshet" company, and since Endemol has become last year the owner of the other company "Reshet" - BB has now switched owners.
In other words - it's the same as the C4 C5 change.
Last year it was like the farewell series, even though it was known that it's coming back the next year, but on a different channel.
Tonight, Channel 13 (Reshet) will launch its first series of BB under the new management.

To those who aren't familiar with BBIL - it's still huge in here and the biggest TV show ever since 2008.
They put a lot of money on production, the houses are always astonishing, the promos are a delight and we have Channel 26 for the LF 24/7.
The old house has been demolished to its core and a new one has been built.
No house pictures are ever being released before launch night.

It looks like we're going to copy the eye door from C5. Rumor has it that it's going to be more family friendly and that smoking will be absolutely BANNED.

So far we had two presenters for each series, and now there are going to be THREE (not sure how it's going to work):
The presenters of "Got Talent" - Comedians and Actors Offer Shechter and Asi Israelof - and a presenter from the biggest culture coverage show, Liron Weizman.

The series has had teasers featuring the well iconic theme song of BBIL - here are a few:

Army:

Traffic:

Babies:

Cows:

School:

Israel's 70s celebrations:

Flies:

The final reveal - a compilation:

Date reveal - all based on the iconic BBIL eye:

A bit from the BTS pre-show:

The main (teasing) ad - To Those Who "Don't Watch", BB 5.5:

On the 5.5 everyone will be at home watching:

Housemates go into hiding:

I'll be updating and posting pictures of the house after the show ends after some people have requested :)

Mint, Y Winter. I look forward to this.

I'm planning on visiting Israel for Christmas and New year if all goes well.

This is the kind of stuff that gets me so excited for a BB - and what C5 needs. To have no house images pre-launch just makes people more eager to watch and see what it looks like.

Barry. 05-05-2018 06:25 PM

Looks fun.

That wouldn't make people watch. I doubt theres anybody outside of this forum that genuinely cares what the house looks like.

I love how the Israeli BB production team puts effort into everything...
When will UK BB?

Glenn. 06-05-2018 11:18 AM

What does the house look like then?

Nicky91 06-05-2018 11:22 AM

:amazed:

Jamie89 07-05-2018 08:25 PM

It's weird to think of BB still being huge in other countries  We need to get the BBIL producers over here.

Is it the same format as BBUK or do they use BBUS/BBCAN's?

Josiah. 08-05-2018 05:24 AM

BB Israel uses the international BB format.

BBIL is using the UK format and in general takes a lot of inspiration from BBUK.
Tasks, regular nominations, public vote and eviction.

And as for what happened:
  • It was the first time we had a double launch night. On day 1 ten housemates have entered. The next day they were all moved to a secret suite in the house. The house has been cleaned. A set of new 7 housemates have been told that the launch has been rescheduled to the next day, and they entered the house thinking they're the first to go in.
  • The original hms have been watching them entering the house (without the VTs), and had to choose secretly someone to grant immunity from the first nomination round. After the new hms settled down, the original hms came in. Quite an underwhelming "twist".
  • Ilan, the older housemate, has been given a secret task to make the new hms believe that has psychic powers while being given details (by BB) about hms he then can use and with the help of the original hms. This should be secret to win this week's budget.
  • In order to avoid promoting smoking among the viewers, BB has set a single booth that can be occupied by only one person at a time. This is the only place where they can smoke.
  • Here BB has only one voice, that is the voice of the main editor - a voice that has become quite iconic. Because of the changes in the production, we now have a female editor (the editor of Amazing Race and Survivor). So the housemates should now call her "Big Sister". CBB Year of the Woman who?
  • Housemates have already voted a few days into the series based on first impressions, but they were later told they'll have the chance of changing their noms later this week.
  • Shams, the muslim hm, has been given a curtain to hide her in bed while she's asleep. This is the first time it's being done worldwide, I guess that was the condition for her participation, because they were looking for a muslim hm to go in.
  • BBIL is very explosive here and most of the years are very agendas driven. Racism, veganism, cultural differences, arabs, left and right, gay and trans rights, and fights over stupid things like cooking rice with onions lol. It's nothing like the dramas-over-nothing BBUK, for better and for worse.

The housemates:

A compilation of the VTs (this is only parts of them, as it;s the only video I could find on YT that is not blocked)
Ignore the weird editing, the person who uploaded it tried to be funny or something, not sure what the hell.

In this order:
  • Eliav, 22 - Works as a shovel driver in the electricity company. Loves trance parties. Typecast: the down to earth provincial, not so sharp guy
  • Liraz, 35 - a "don't call me plus-size, just call me a" model. Calls herself a fat barbie. Typecast: girl power, inspiring little girls against body shaming.
  • Israel, 27 - comes from aN highly orthodox jewish family. He left the orthodox community as a teenager, his family didn't want to do anything with him (to these days) and he became homeless (and a model/stripper according to the tabloids, in order to survive). Now works as a barman. Typecast: good looking, charming, difficult background, potential winner I'd say.
  • Maggie, 23 - Bachelor of Laws student, CEO of an organization promoting leadership among young generation, gold medal winner diver, looking for a career in politics. Named after Thatcher. Typecast: good girl from a good home, but something might go wrong with her. Too ambitious?
  • Merav, 37 - makeup and nail artist. Mother of two, loves cleaning and quite hypochondriac when it comes to googling health symptoms. Typecast: comic relief.
  • Roy, 23 - Poetry Slam artist. Critical, anti-establishment, "don't call me lefty" lefty. Has a lot on his mind, very opinionated. Worked at his dad's IT company but left because he claims it was all fake in there. Typecast: trouble ahead, eviction on the way or an unlikely redemption story.
  • Maria, 22 - Instagram star with 1m followers (#4 in Israel), though I've never heard about her, so I wonder how many of these followers are real. Born in Russia and suffered from bullying when she came to IL as a child. She's in a relationship. Typecast: There isn't much inside. harmless but most likely boring and shallow.
  • Tai, 22 - Comes from a well established family, got into a gang when he was teenager and ended up in prison twice for a 2 years in total. "They tried to portrait me in court as a clockwork orange".He's now building himself from zero, a Dean's list's Laws student. Claims that the treatment of young offenders is problematic and keeps them away from a proper rehabilitation. Typecast: warm-blooded, willing to prove others wrong, on his way to redemption.
  • Ilan, 56 - Grandfather, wedding and events planner. Loves plastic surgery and laughing. Typecast: father of the house, annoying comedian.
  • Shams, 35 - Palestinian, Muslim, mother of 3. She's risking a lot by going to BB, including an obvious backlash from the Arab community. Wishing the Arab and the Jewish people can come together. She's here to change stereotypes. Typecast: "The Arab", mother of the house, kind and lovely.
  • Inna, 32 - Real estate agent, loves boxing and doing her nails. Putin is the man of her dreams. Big spender. Apparently she and Roy had a relationship outside. Typecast: Delusional plastic woman with nothing to offer.
  • Tami, 28 - Like Israel, an ex orthodox (including a marriage and a child in this community at the age of 17). Her mother, Esty Weinstein, was the first to escape the community and Tami followed suit. Her father has denied her mother access to their children since she left the community and they wanted nothing to do with Esty and Tami. Esty ended up committing suicide not before releasing a tell-all book about the poisonous community she escaped from. It was in the news, you can google and read more about it. It was Esty's last wish that she'll do whatever she can to spread the word about the book. This is Tami's reason for entering the house. Typecast: winner alert? A looming romance with Israel, who knows how it feels.
  • Shmuel ("Samuel"), 35 - Hyperrealism painter living in NY in the last three years, after he divorced his wife. Loves meditation. Typecast: Potential showmancer.
  • Orly, 57 - House cleaner "of all the posh people, but don't show the posh part, god bless 'em I love them". Loves everything with leopard print. Married and a mother of 1. Typecast: Down to earth, provincial, tactless, caring, but big mouth potential.
  • Tomer, 26 - Business man calling himself "Tomer Rothschild", even when he's not part of that family. Rich, single, gym gym gym. Typcast: Rich boy cliche. Showmance is a matter of time, but whose number is up?
  • Liron, 25 - Parking inspector. Deeply in love with his girlfriend. Has previously lost 45 kg. Won the immunity. Typecast: good guy, lite provincial guy, will get a long with everybody.
  • Sima, 40 - MArried, mother of 3 from Tel Aviv and currently from Miami. Miss Universe for married women (whatever that means). Ladylike, Botox obsessed, dreams of being the Israeli Oprah. Typecast: Like Inna, but more plastic and more delusions.

The house:

Studio:

The housemates get out of the iconic black limos on the left, walking the catwalk and up the stairs to the eye, which is the door of the house.
On the right, you can't see it but there's a big screen (with two staircases, not sure why) showing the house and this is where the hosts stand most of the time.

Building:

House tour (Facebook):
https://www.facebook.com/bigbrotheri...0167190906344/

1000 square meters; 500 sqm addition to the garden; 60 cameras; 100 fixed microphones.
Living room and a Kitchen with a smart board
Biggest pool ever (divided into deep and shallow pools)
Sky room, or as we call it no matter how it's designed - "the nest" (yes, in English) - named after the first nest in the house which was a copy of BB11 nest
Bedroom with an HD sky screen above some of the beds
Bathroom with a big duck and an attached closet and patio
Gym for the first time in BBIL
Spice garden for the first time
Task room

y.winter 11-05-2018 12:57 PM

And oh, we had a clip on launch night where hosts all over the world welcome the new series of BBIL.
And guess who...
https://i.imgur.com/JIdQecA.jpg?1
"Hello and a massive congratulations on your new home of Big Brother Israel at Reshet!"

And to those who wonder, it's two live shows a week:
on Sunday a show without a crowd with most of the highlights from the passing week + nominations revealed
on Wednesday the rest of the highlights and evcition
There's a spin-off talk show discussing the show every day, but it's far from being close to BBLB or BOTS, it's not as serious and "official" in production as BB itself, mostly a filler in the afternoon TV schedule.

That house is amazing.

I remember reading that one of these was subtitled somewhere in the past, is it available anywhere?

Second week task - lost in space.
(And yes, they covered the entire garden with sand)

This series introduces for the first time the role of HoH.
The housemates vote for the Hoh, which is then immune from eviction but also has to add an additional housemate to the (already announced) public vote, nominating to their faces.

However, apparently the housemates keep breaking the rules of BB, and therefore the hms who were already nominated will be joined by the rest of the house - meaning that the entire house is up for eviction. HoH Maggie lost her immunity and will face the public vote as well. When will BBUK?

T* 22-05-2018 08:26 PM

god damn those graphics/teasers/consistency/theme
jealousy is an understatement
I tried to find all the intros etc and research into this a few months back but my lack of Hebrew and the fact this seems all very internal (I.e not international, there’s rarely any vids with English titles etc) I didn’t get very far lmao
