Longest ever series to start in SEPTEMBER

according to the Daily Star...

Channel 5's contract for the show comes to an end this year and, while talks are still ongoing with production company Endemol, they are yet to re-sign the programme.

Sources tell Daily Star Online the civilian series of Big Brother 2018 has been confirmed to start either the last week of August, or the first week of September.

This means a Friday launch night would take place on August 31 or Septemeber 7.

"Big Brother bosses are open about the fact they don't want to take on Love Island in the ratings," a source explained.

"They have revamped the casting team behind the scenes in a bid to shake things up in terms of casting new housemates.

"The show won't start until the end of August at the very earliest."

But that's not all.

The controversy-loving show which once gave us stars like Jade Goody and Aisleyne Horgan-Wallace, is set to be the longest ever.

Currently Big Brother 8 in 2007 was the longest lasting 94 days – just over thirteen weeks.

"Everyone is being told to leave at least twelve weeks free," a second insider added.

"They are saying it could be the longest ever and are making people aware a fourteen-week stretch in the house is highly possible."

not big brother finishing in december?

Morgan. 16-05-2018 09:24 AM

NOT 14 weeks :skull: Quite a change from like 40 days

bitontheslide 16-05-2018 09:32 AM

they have had to cut previous series short because viewers gave up on it. I don't think it's likely to be any different this time around

Babayaro. 16-05-2018 09:34 AM

No way will it be more than 80 days

It was Because of the growing popularity of Love Island.

You never know how much it would rate this time. If it starts after LI, it could get decent ratings

Big Brother Australia has series that last 100 days so I’ll be fine if BBUK goes on for that Long...

BBDodge 16-05-2018 09:54 AM

That will be a disaster.

Don’t we all. Seems like it’s too much to ask though.

If they are going “back to basics”, a maximum 16 housemates, 14 on launch night and two late entrants, and it lasting 64 days would be a dream...

Love Island only became so popular because people went off Big Brother.

Hardly! Both timebomb and BB17 Beat Love Island Series 1 and 2 in the ratings department.

LI was gaining momentum and increasing in popularity And ratings per year.

Just look at how much the first series averaged compared to last years.

They won't want a clash with IACGMOOH which is due back in November.

Makes sense.

Though part of me thinks the 2011 format would come back...

Yeah I wouldn’t mind a September to November BB again.

Just Axe the Summer CBB already

LukeB 16-05-2018 10:41 AM

This sounds like a terrible idea

Greg! 16-05-2018 12:10 PM

Not them making it double the length of BB18 :skull:

Barry. 16-05-2018 12:17 PM

Don’t see it lasting any longer than 50 days.

Morgan. 16-05-2018 12:23 PM

Could you imagine if this series is 90+ days, reminiscent of the Golden Era and doesn't rely on twists for entertainment - then the series is axed straightafter. I'd cry.

The only thing that can save this Show is closed off stairs and chickens.

Nicky91 16-05-2018 12:25 PM

a longer off season now till september :flutter: :amazed: :clap1:

The first part would be my dream end to BBUK

I would be here for that tbh. As long as it's a good series.
