Report: CBB to air before BBUK in August

UPDATE:

Quote:

According to the latest reports, Celebrity Big Brother will instead begin the season in 'mid-August', followed by Big Brother in the autumn.

“We delayed everything until Love Island is out of the way," a source told the Daily Star newspaper. "Then fans will be ready for us. We'd usually start with a regular series but we're launching with all guns blazing with celebrities."
Reports suggest CBB will begin mid August, a few weeks after Love Island, then civilian BB will begin in September soon afterwards.

Hopefully officially axed and will no longer be returning to television.

supertv247 14-06-2018 11:23 PM

Just heard; apparently it’s about when it’s back...

Oaker 14-06-2018 11:24 PM

Probably that it's starting in August

supertv247 15-06-2018 12:37 AM

Mrmattybeck 15-06-2018 12:43 AM

so the news of them taking civilian seriously again is ****e

supertv247 15-06-2018 12:53 AM

This is so ****. BBUK is supposed to be the main show, and CBB the spin-off. Now BBUK is gonna have the hash bash repainted house, no promotion, no unique twist, nothing new to it. Nobody will be excited for it. I genuinely can’t be bothered with more CBB yet my excitement for BBUK was quite high for the first time in a while and this just sh*ts all over it

Ross. 15-06-2018 12:57 AM

What a mess

Oaker 15-06-2018 12:58 AM

Because this worked so well in 2011

Isn’t the house lease up in September

A week long civilian series is coming?

Cal. 15-06-2018 01:08 AM

Not the civilian housemates getting moved into porta cabins after a week for the rest of filming.

Eddie. 15-06-2018 02:03 AM

Even though 3 CBBs in a row is just pathetic, at least we got the 2011 Format some of us wanted...

TomC 15-06-2018 05:17 AM

Let

It

Die

(or move to a superior channel, preferably)

Epic. 15-06-2018 06:47 AM

'back to basics'

RileyH 15-06-2018 06:51 AM

Ffs

Epic. 15-06-2018 07:17 AM

Waiting for the news the civilian housemates WILL be the celebrity housemates as a back to basics TWIST followed by a celebrity series right after.

Nicky91 15-06-2018 07:25 AM

Matthew. 15-06-2018 07:31 AM

rude to say on a big brother forum :nono:

T* 15-06-2018 09:53 AM

What’s even more hilarious is this launch date with the fact they advertised in universities... irony

Cherie 15-06-2018 10:25 AM

I don't mind this at all

It's going to be extended. When Endemol can sort out the correct paperwork.

supertv247 15-06-2018 10:48 AM

The thing is, this would work if they were leading BBUK with a good CBB, but the reported theme for CBB is bloody rehab :laugh3:

pontyboi 15-06-2018 11:33 AM

Terrible scheduling yet again!

This will kill the civilian BB as people would have had enough after 4 week's of watching CBB plus the house will get a lick of paint then relaunch in a day or 2 which scream's low budget.

Why are people acting like there is a huge demand for Civi BB and it will die because of CBB ? CBB is now the flagship show and has been for years

Cal. 15-06-2018 11:41 AM

So in short: they’re relying on Katie Price’s sex addict ex and Chloe Ayling to save their format

CBB was the flagship show until they over exposed it. Last year’s summer CBB averaged 1.8 million which is less then BBUK could manage just a few years ago. Even January’s CBB has fell from 3.1 to 1.9 million. BBUK has lost just 200k over the last 6 YEARS in comparison, so is obviously the much more consistent and reliable show. If they put in the effort to bbuk, they could’ve easily made this next series special and it manage the same rating as CBB will likely get (but for longer).

BigBrotherGuy100 15-06-2018 12:39 PM

Channel 4 is launching their new Reality Show "The Circle" in September... I think I will just watch that instead lol.

Epic. 15-06-2018 01:14 PM

'Hi my name is Endemol and I'm going to bring BB back by airing ANOTHER CBB and including a bunch of desperate fame seekers trying to recover from being unclassified celebrities right back to Z Lister stardom! ...oh and also here's a bunch of random numpties, welcome to Back to Basics!'

Cal. 15-06-2018 01:22 PM

Send our Steph back in!

supertv247 15-06-2018 01:36 PM

My theory: Channel 5 are ending the show and want the final final to be of BBUK, because ending with summer CBB would just be weird, so they’ve switched them

BBUK-Fan 15-06-2018 02:18 PM

If they actually improve the show with tasks, no outside contact and good promo, I don’t mind if they’ve switched

BBUK-Fan 15-06-2018 02:19 PM

If CBB wants any credibility, they can’t put on Chloe Ayling or Stormy Daniels.

y.winter 15-06-2018 02:26 PM

So many trash names being rumored around CBB... When will Josie Cunningham.

I'm a fan of the late autumn civi series schedule, so I'm fine with that (though I have terrible flashbacks to CBB8).
I'd like to believe it's better for whatever kind of UBB that *should* be this year. Let it die.

LukeB 15-06-2018 02:45 PM

I haven't read the whole thread but does anyone think C5 are ending it like they started it, with the whole summer CBB before civilian?
