The Beach!

How often do you go to the beach? (Weather permitting obviously)

I love the beach and go to them any chance we get, we've been there since around 11am this morning but leaving now.

Infact I love any where where there is water, beaches, lochs, canals etc I jut love them all :amazed:

Matthew. 23-06-2018 01:32 PM

only when on holidays tbh

reece(: 23-06-2018 01:32 PM

I like to go but hate the sand, it's better on hols when you can chill in the ocean though

Nicky91 23-06-2018 01:33 PM

haven't gone to the beach in several years now, i have a beach holiday planned for september

Cherie 23-06-2018 01:33 PM

Love the beach, we have a place in Spain that overlooks the sea and you can hear the waves crash onto the beach from the terrace, I love the sound of waves and also the moon on water :flutter: I eventually want to live near a beach in Ireland and divide my time between there and Spain

If you are counting those beaches with just sand and water, and not “touristy”, once every month.

For those tourist beaches, maybe once every few months because the weather can get unbearingly hot here...

Shaun 23-06-2018 03:54 PM

It kinda loses its allure when you live in a touristy, seaside town :(

Aw does it really? We were actually just talking about this today when we passed by a house for sale saying how great it would be to live right at the beach [emoji23]

Shaun 23-06-2018 04:23 PM

Yeah, I guess it's just not a novelty to me any more and the impracticality of getting sand everywhere on your body isn't worth it when a perfectly nice park will do  Also can't stand the smell of seaweed that's washed ashore.

Don't get me wrong, they look lovely, but especially with Torbay they're basically just a trap for tourists to come along, and then get a horrible surprise when they see our nightmare of a housing plan, crazy teenage pregnancy rates, Spice addicts and a dying high street because of ridiculous rent prices (thanks to wealthy retirees buying up all the nice areas) :/

smudgie 23-06-2018 06:26 PM

Love the seaside, we tended to go a lot in years gone by as we are local to the coast and most of hubbys family live there.
Still go quite often now, but not on to the actual beach.
Best fish and chips are on the coast.

Alf 23-06-2018 06:38 PM

I just go for a ride on the donkeys.

michael21 23-06-2018 11:46 PM

Oh and there loads of sexy girls :cheer2:

Glenn. 24-06-2018 12:05 AM

Only when it’s really hot. Like Shaun said, when you live by a beach it loses the novelty a little.

That seem odd to me if you live by the beach I would think you would go more in the summer when the weather nice at least

JerseyWins 24-06-2018 11:27 PM

I don't go often at all but I just went to one yesterday lol.

montblanc 24-06-2018 11:28 PM

That must off been fun do there have beach people that stay what parts are safe

Niamh. 25-06-2018 08:47 AM

I live right on the beach so I walk along there quite a bit, I never tire of the view and it's great for the kids especially when the weather is like this (which doesn't happen very often)

LeatherTrumpet 25-06-2018 09:21 AM

I like a beach for walking, getting shells etc and paddling

BUT NOT FOR SITTING ON A BLOODY TOWEL LIKE A PLONKER STARTING AT THE SUN

:yuk:

id like to be by a beach with high powered binoculars and a handgun and spy on dog walkers - if i spied on letting their dog sh1t without clearing it up i would march up to them and shoot one of their toes clean off.

In fact I would have a sign made

FAILURE TO CLEAN UP YOUR DOG SH1T WILL RESULT IN ONE OF YOUR TOES BEING SHOT OFF WITH A HAND GUN. NO IFS, NO BUTS.

I am pretty sure after a couple of digit executions I would have a clean beach

:)

i live 15 minutes from a beautiful sandy beach, but we rarely go, because although there are plenty warm days the sea never really warms up enough for it to be pleasant like the med. Also, i'm really not a fan of swimming in sewage

The beach near us is mostly rocky although there's one nice sandy part. I prefer sitting outside in the garden looking out at the water rather than sitting out on the beach though, I can't even remember the last time I swam in the sea in Ireland, the kids do though
