When you hear "back to basics" what do you hope for?

for me I certainly don't want a bb1 revival. Like I really don't need 'normal people' but I think bringing back the chickens wold be fun. What I would also love to see:
- Old nomination rules. The two with the most nominations go up. I honestly can't get my head around why they think having half the house up every week is at all necessary or exiting.
- Vote to evict. Vote to save just isn't cutting it, get rid.
- Bring back the old blackboard and chalk shopping list I miss the arguments over who does it and the messy last minute edits in the diary room.
- I don't mind the odd twist but if it will "rock the house" keep it.
- Real punishments. Turning the hot water off for an hour is more of an inconvenience than a punishment.
- No more "who said this about you" tasks. Its just tedious to watch at this point. The arguments they do cause aren't interesting because they didn't occur naturally. I don't know about you but an argument with no build up really isn't that exiting
- Marcus needs to calm down. Yeah he's not bb12 bad but he still sounds constipated.

Not sure if its bee posted but hopefully this article I read has some truth to it: https://metro.co.uk/2018/03/25/big-b...laims-7414828/

a show insider said: ‘The problem is they’ve had the same producers since the beginning and they have just found themselves in a rut. They have let the desire for drama take away from the science experiment aspect people loved.

‘Execs plan to restrict producers from ‘over producing’ and want to let the characters unfold naturally rather than forcing them to do so with manipulative tasks.’
I know I'm probably being sold a dream but if they've come to this realisation it can only be good... I hope.

2000

Chickens

Homemade bread

No already well known people as housemates

Decent mix of ages and personalities

No manufactured arguments or showmances, with a large group of people in a confined space disagreements and relationships would form naturally without constant need for producer manipulation

Interesting tasks that require actual effort

No noms talk or reveals

No revealing DR conversations to cause aggro, in the past the dr was the only place housemates could go to get away from the rest of the housemates and just speak honestly without fear of it bring broadcast to the house

No pathetic twists

LeatherTrumpet 19-07-2018 05:40 PM

and we will gety none of the above in a desperate attempt to be LI

This one is probably the one the annoys me the most because I genuinely think its effected the quality of nominations/ diary room momments

Definitely yes, hm's are too used to dr conversations and nominations being aired now that they hold back

Lostie! 19-07-2018 06:29 PM

Proper weekly nominations
No unnecessary Marcus during the eviction
A final 4 on finale night
Substantial live feed
No music montages

Marsh. 19-07-2018 06:31 PM

Consistent nomination/eviction rules.

No changing them every week.

armand.kay 19-07-2018 07:13 PM

I would love Live feed but I gave up on that dream years ago

Alf 19-07-2018 07:44 PM

Diary room entries must stay private. It's disgusting behaviour to show other housemates others diary room entries.

No outside information unless an emergency. Housemates should not know public opinion on themselves.

Both these rules have been abused for years now.

Tbf all they have to do to compete with LI is for all the hms to ask each other ‘where’s you head at’ every hour

funny thing is though is that the LI production actually seems like a professional operation. they're consistent and rely on the formate to make it interesting rather than stupid tasks to stir the pot

Strictly Jake 19-07-2018 08:09 PM

Everything you said in the op but also closed off stairs during evictions, a downstairs diary room and maybe bb6 style seperate lounge to be used on eviction nights

Starting with an actual weekly routine - a week means a task, a shopping list, nominations, noms reveal, eviction.

Other than the obvious things, I would really really want to see long shopping tasks - 24/48/72 hr task, with roles and everything. They've done the same tasks over and over again, yet didn't think about redoing BB8's sleepless 48h task. In 2007 the hms gave up on this so fast, and in BBIL it was one epic task. Take their sleeping hours away and you don't need any "who tweeted this" to wreak havoc.

Didn't they Bring back that Task for CBB19?

y.winter 20-07-2018 11:08 AM

As far as I remember and according to Wikipedia, they weren't allowed to sleep during the day, so hardly effective.

You’re Correct they weren’t allowed to Sleep during the day. I agree they Should bring that task back for the Civilian. That No Sleeping task caused a lot of Tension and Conflict Between Billi And Charley.

Tony Montana 20-07-2018 11:28 AM

BB13 was the last Civilian Series Where they actually followed the Main Basic Format. Private Diary room Nominations, Zero Outside Contact, Fantastic and Original Tasks that were actually put Effort Into, No S*** Stirring Tasks etc. The Only thing it was Missing Was Live Feed.

BB14 was the Series that Started the Whole Producer Manipulation, Stirring Tasks and Outside Contact that we're all accustomed to. Yet that seems to be the highest Rated C5 Series.

Glenn. 20-07-2018 11:31 AM

Proper weekly tasks that last 2-3 days. I used to love that every week it would be different and the whole house was ‘themed’ to it.
