A hypothetical question on the future of BB

There's obviously a few things happening this year that give us hope for the show (Golden Era production members returning, Trevor Boris joining the team etc) so here's a question ...

If we got CBB22 to resemble CBB15 (a clear divide, not too many nobodies, good C5 standard etc) and BB19 to resemble BB6 (peak of the golden era etc) ... do you think (a) BB would stand a chance at renewal or (b) are any changes made from now on just going to let the show leave on a high.

BB will always stand a chance because the format is so strong and it's a show for multiple demographics however in my opinion the show is in need for a much needed break and it needs to be put in the hands of more competent people

It needs a 5 year break or longer or gone for good tbh

A

I’d like to think the answer is A

If they manage to pull of a good series that's more reason for it to end, let it go out on a high...

Not by c5 but in the same sense cbb7,bb11 & ubb were all considered good series and had increased ratings which is probably what made c5 buy it in the first place.

If it is THAT much of a success then I can see another channel picking it up (would definately prefer later rather than sooner tbh) perhaps when Love Island dies down a bit, can already see that happening with people calling it staged and all.

I think after a while and maybe when Instagram and stuff aren't as trendy anymore people might find a return of BB quite refreshing if it was back to basics with live feed etc.

B, right now the ratings don’t matter, the quality matters much more...

Civillian series will be renewed if they pull it off and have normal every day characters. It’s up to the public to embrace it though.

I think CBB is done. Mainly down to the costs it takes them to get two bunch of Celebrities twice a year. It just is not worth their time or money. Civillian is a different story. Endemol provide the prize fund and (correct me if I’m wrong) but the construction of the house is covered by them too. So all Channel 5 need to worry about is funding marketing and paying staff. Regardless of anything, it will come back in years - wouldn’t put it past Ch4 either.
