I haven't read the books so I can't compare his screen image with his book one

Very outdated character.

However, the Daniel Craig version has made strides in bringing the franchise up to date with the modern world.

They were the best for the time but roger played the same part for two films to long, looked old in last two films, bonds character has evolved with Craig
