Fern Britton: I was sexually assaulted by a man in a lift in 1989
Just give us the Star or fella's Name will you?
[Fern Britton has revealed she was sexually assaulted by a man in a lift after a showbiz interview. The TV presenter, 61, said the attack happened when she was working for Television South (TVS) in the late 1980s and early 1990s. Britton, who presented This Morning for 10 years until her departure in 2009, said the man started kissing her after she interviewed him. She told the Daily Mirror: "I remember doing a television show when I worked for TVS. I was in a lift with a man I'd just interviewed. "He suddenly jumped me and started snogging me. I asked him what on earth he thought he was doing. But it didn't seem to shame him into stopping.] https://news.sky.com/story/fern-brit...-lift-11641691 |

so sad how experiences like this are more way common than you think
|
Why only come out with it now
|
There are thousands of women that have been sexually assaulted and not reported it, what has Fern done to make her statement not credible?

both alternatives are plausible without the mans name so he can put his side of the story forward |

Probably true, just back in those days we didn’t really consider it as sexual assault as it was so common :fist:
Thankfully we have moved on and people realise that women ( and men) are not there for you to help yourself too. |

Open your mind, or just do a quick google search. Whichever suits you. |

If I said these posts were concerning, that would be an understatement |

Also if you've ever been through a court case with a loved one or friend that has come to court, you'll know that the defense team will paint you as the one in the wrong. I went through a rape case with a family member, being with her when she reported it, through the rape crisis centre, photographing her injuries to the court case where the defense painted her as a slut who was asking for it, dragging up previous partners but not the guys history. After the case she said given her time over she wouldn't report it and would advise others not to....the stigma, abuse and trauma is not worth it. That's one of the main reasons women don't bother.....and it does happen too often. |

Your stats have no bearing on whether this is true or not. It's her word, no name has been given, just anecdotal claims |

Fine, my stats have no bearing. But neither do your claims that she's only saying this now because she is desperate. That's just guesswork. |
