S11, Episode 13 - Reunited

wasnt the best reunion ever but it was alright.. my little points for each girl:

Silky- unusually quiet during the whole thing, except to throw shade at Ariel.

Yvie - started doing her whole "im the victim here" thing again which was annoying, but IA with the queens that dragged her, her 'reads' and 'tea' were all done in a way to embarrass the other person.

Akeria - was a bit random when everyone started coming for her, reminded me of the Kameron situation in the S10 reunion.

Brooklyn - didnt really have much to say, no surprises her and Vanjie arent still together.. basically said she just wanted to be a hoe.

Vanjie - probably the most vocal throughout the ep. I just like her a lot and she looked very cute.

Shuga - barely spoke except for the try and call out Rajah (I think?) which backfired so she kept her mouth shut the rest of the ep.

Nina - looked amazing, possibly the best shes every looked, just has a nice personality.

Rajah - she makes me scream so much, she really was the comedy of the series :joker: the way she threw Ariels wig on the floor :skull:

Ariel - had plenty to say, got called out for contradicting her wig drama, im just glad she didnt get a chance to say "NYAAS" again.

Scarlett - still dont like her, she just has a very 'im better than you' personality, and when she said "you can direct that over here" to Rajah :rolleyes:

Soju - shes got such a natural charm but shes so awkward lol.

Plastique - didnt really do much, kinda got read for her inconsistent story again but she was probably the best dressed out of them all.

Mercedes - was cute that she had her little moment but that "opulence" thing is so unfunny.. reminds me of when Yuhua tried to drag "ankh" out for months.

Kahanna - seems very bitter and tried to make drama with Mercedes for no real reason.

Honey - hew?

this reunion only *****ed over the black queens more and i'm sick of Ru going along with it.


Why did it feel like Ru started every question with the intention of vilifying a black queen (silky, ra'jah, a'keria)?

Literally he would be like

"Oh and now Silky you had a lot of things to say about fan favorite yvie, here lets play all those shady moments"

"Ra'jah you were so salty all season long and came for every girl. Let's put you on the spot and make you apalogize to each of them"

"A'keria you're stirring so much **** and I wont even let you finish talking I'll just cut you off and no air your eventual resolution with Plastique"

Versus with other queens (nina, plastique, scarlet), they were treated like absolute angels

I thought Ra’jah and Silky came off fine when they answered their questions :shrug:

I really only thought Ariel and A’keria fumbled their responses. .

A’keria acting like she wasn’t super suspicious of Plastique :laugh: I still want her to win, but definitely would’ve rather she owned it.

I still don’t really like Brooke, but her being more of an undercover b**** than I realized is kind of hilarious

Yvie and Scarlet are still just not it lol, but they’re trying and Yvie’s probably gonna win tbh.

Bit of a meh episode tbh, not a great reunion, think Shuga said all of about 3 words

About half way through and completely agree about it making a villain out of the black queens again, just like they did to Vixen and even Asia last season
All the focus on how awful Silky, Ra’Jah and A’Keria are UGHH. People always go on about the racist fans of drag race but it’s pretty obvious where the root of the problem is....

Pretty dissatisfying reunion for a pretty dissatisfying season.

Honey, Shuga and Kahanna might as well not have shown up. Got zero edit in their favour and thrown on the scrapheap once again.

Vanjie continuing to talk back over the reading challenge was TIRESOME and I am beyond bored of her now. Found her funny at the start when talking about new teeth/filler, though.

I found it interesting that Ru made such a big deal of Silky supposedly coming for Yvie's disability (when she didn't) and not even mentioning the fact that Silky was called 'talentless' which is far worse. In fact, this was a big opportunity for the show to play responsibly and allow for Ru/the other girls to rein in the drama and implore people to stop coming for Silky, because Silky's probably received the most hate of all queens of all time. But no, if anything the show just seemed to allow it and endorse Yvie for the crown, completely ignoring her bulldozer tact and pretentious need to be heard all the time. Truly gearing up for a Sasha 2.0 win, but at least Sasha won two challenges :idc:

I thought Ru was also trying to engineer a second Vixen situation with Ra'Jah, talking over her defending herself and trying to orchestrate all of these clips and talking heads of her talking **** about everyone even though Ra'Jah had already admitted she was in a bad place, lashing out, and was grateful that she was able to see that's how she behaves under stress. She apologised a number of times, and yet Ru/Scarlet seemed pressed to make her break. Completely irresponsible when the show is supposedly centred around loving your sisters, forgiving them and being a family or whatever, but hey, VH1.

And then to echo Moniqua's point, they turned on the third blackest queen as well by making A'Keria seem like a snake when all of her points were valid: Plastique DID claim she had no family to support her, when crying on Ru's shoulder, and then the video proved otherwise. Bottom line. She DID lie about Ariel's wigs, too, and Ariel WAS running her mouth and then trying to play the victim.

Soju and Ariel were both embarrassing, completely devoid of wit and entertainment and just absolutely nothing interesting about their drag whatsoever. I screamed when Soju's read went "I can give you tips on how not to fall in front of RuPaul" and A'Keria immediately interjected "...wear flats? :)" :joker:

Came off well: Yvie, Silky, Nina, Vanjie, Mercedes, Scarlet
Neutral: Soju, Honey, Shuga, Ra'Jah, Brooke, Plastique
Came off badly: Kahanna, Ariel, A'Keria (rigga morris, girl, it was rigga morris)

I do wish they'd go back to the old format of a "end-of-season-recap" episode where all of the queens get a fair showing, because Honey Davenport might as well have committed a genocide, she's been edited out of the season with that much fervour.

Ru often plays off the popularity of the queens on social media too, hence Yvie getting lots of praise while Silky/Akeria got thrown to the dogs
