Whitney Houston - Higher Love (New single)

A new single featuring Whitney Houston has been announced.

Norwegian DJ and producer Kygo, famous for his collaborations with the likes of Selena Gomez, Rita Ora and Ellie Goulding, has reworked Whitney Houston's song Higher Love. The track - a cover of Steve Winwood's 1986 single - was only released on the Japanese edition of her 1990 album I'm Your Baby Tonight as a bonus track.

The original song's title has been retained, with the song splicing Whitney's vocals with a tropical house backing track. The song will be released on June 28.

The project has been endorsed by Whitney's long-time manager Clive Davis, who has teased the single on social media, as has Kygo on his Instagram account.

Higher Love is Whitney's first single since a trio of posthumous tracks were put out in 2012, two of which were from the movie Sparkle, the final project she worked on before her death in February 2011.

In her lifetime, Whitney Houston scored four Number 1 singles and a pair of Number 1 albums. Her chart-topper I Will Always Love You is one of the best-selling singles of all-time in the UK, was the 1992 Christmas Number 1, and is one of only 11 songs to spend 10 or more weeks atop the Official Singles Chart.

Yeah, I got it from The Official Chart company. They've obviously got their date wrong which is terrible on their part.

Its a cute song but I always find posthumous songs a bit unnecessary
