Why was BB not widescreen until 2006?
 

By the time BB started in summer 2000 it was commonplace for new British TV shows to be made in widescreen so why were the first six series in 4:3 then?

Probably to try and make it look more like a realistic home

It wasn't commonplace in 2000 at all.

BBUS didn't start filming in widescreen until 2014, so I'd say it's pretty common for cheap-to-film reality TV shows to stick with the camera equipment they have until it's absolutely necessary to upgrade

Probably cause loads of 16:9 cameras were expensive in 2000.

because not all of the cameras in the house were updated to widescreen until BB7

What does it matter if it's widescreen or not? You still see the same old sh!te on it, but wider, what goods that?
