bury fc might be kick out of football

There not played any games so far :amazed:

Mystic Mock 16-08-2019 11:20 PM

At this point I honestly think that the Bury fans need to get a Consortium together to try and save the club as it's looking quite bleak for a business person to takeover the club.

:fc: That somebody comes in and saves them.

Mystic Mock 20-08-2019 03:04 AM

Has there been any reports of a takeover yet?

There's only 3 more days left to save them from expulsion, but I was just wondering if anyone has heard any good news about a possible change in fortune?

I haven’t heard any news regarding this so far but it isn’t looking good. I doubt a buyer is going to come forward tbh, apparently Steve Dale has kept potential buyers waiting for information. Also some players haven’t been paid for almost 5 months?

It looks like Bolton are heading down the same route as well. I think both teams have games that are called off tonight.

Okay, thanks for the update.

It is crazy how the EFL nor the FA are leaving two big teams in such a bad state and aren't trying to get the clubs off the owners.

Denver 21-08-2019 04:38 PM

I would not call Bury a big team

Well they're quite an old team that's been in the Football League for a very long time, and they have a big fanbase.

Established in 1885, I hope they can be saved somehow

UserSince2005 21-08-2019 05:06 PM

Bury is a **** hole. I'm further appalled every time I catch the metrolink there

MTVN 21-08-2019 05:29 PM

Their own fault tbh for going beyond their means in order to get promoted last season and depriving someone else of their league 1 spot

The Slim Reaper 21-08-2019 05:35 PM

Just get rid of united, and replace them with greater Manchester's' sleeping giant.

Bury produces a lot of soap stars. The likes of Helen Flanagan, Gemma Atkinson, Charley Webb, Suzanne Shaw, Georgia May Foote and others all hail from Bury.

They must have an acting school nearby

I agree with you that Steve Dale shouldn't have spent money that he nor the club really had as look at what chasing promotion has done to the team this season.

I can't help but feel sorry for the fans though as it could easily be Blues in that situation, it's awful for the fans.

bitontheslide 22-08-2019 07:03 AM

The owner has had the opportunity to sell, so it could all have been avoided, he is just holding out for a better offer. Only one person to blame and as it's his club he can do as he wants

I went to school in Bury....I know Lisa Riley from there. They all started off going.to Oldham Theatre workshop, they have produced a lot.of soap stars.

Anyway, it will be a shame if the club shuts due to mismanagment but if someone is allowed to buy a club for £1, it doesn't show much financial commitment in the first place

People like that should never be allowed to buy a Club, he obviously couldn't care less about the Club or the fans, its all about the cash, this could happen to any Club so if it goes under a precedent will have been set

bitontheslide 22-08-2019 09:04 AM

A deal will probably be done before the deadline

Nicky91 22-08-2019 11:37 AM

if there is any justice, then they should get new owners since this club exists for so long already, i guess they belong to the FA's hall of fame

if they get kicked out, i think it might upset a lot of people in Bury :(

I agree with you 100%

Thankfully Sky Sports News have said that four parties are interested in buying the club so hopefully Steve Dale will accept one of these offers.

So apparently the owner wants almost £1m plus £1.5m paid of a debt that stands around £9m

No wonder nobody has brought the club

Adam do you think you might provide links for your posts please?

The club's current and former players, and other football creditors, are owed approximately £1m, Dale recently engineered a debt repayment deal to pay off 25 per cent of the club's unsecured debt of nearly £9million and there are three outstanding charges over the club and Gigg Lane, not to mention the matter of a covenant on the ground that means it must be used for sporting purposes.
