Well its not confirmed, but bosses have said the live voting has gone, and that players will vote eachother out in a ‘survivor-style’ format - so it must be some form of the North American format.

Josiah. 04-10-2019 11:47 PM

They could be using the format used during the first half of season 8 (viewers nominate via VTS, housemates vote to evict).

I guess it's safe to say that Gretel is most likely hosting. She's been talking so much about the show and being so enthusiastic over it. I think this is the most she has ever spoken about it since she left...

Im not sure what she does tv wise these days, but I imagine her being on the masked singer was getting her back out there again, as well, and familiar to audiences.

Eddie. 05-10-2019 12:01 PM

She actually was on the Masked Singer in Australia recently.

Channel Seven (the most likely broadcaster at this point) is most likely going to build the house at the Redfern Studio in Sydney where My Kitchen Rules Australia is filmed.

Makes a lot of sense since most Australian RTV shows are based in Sydney now.

Josiah. 06-10-2019 03:56 AM

This could mean that BBAU and Australian Survivor would both have the distinction of having been on Australia's 3 major networks.

Oh my days I hope Gretel returns. She is the best host ever! :D

Gretel has respected and endorsed the purity of the early years and the importance of casting those who aren't on there just to win, so using the NA format would contradict that. I think the best option would be to use BB08's public VTS and then the housemates VTE.

Marsh. 10-10-2019 08:54 PM

I kinda liked Sonia.

She was competent but damn was she a boring dullard. No personality whatsoever. Even Kyle and Jackie O were better.

Apparently the North American format is going to be used and all of the series will be filmed beforehand. Really not liking the idea of a pre-recorded BB. BB is meant to be a live show.

Josiah. 23-10-2019 12:48 AM

Its just speculation at this point. Anything will be confirmed by Seven once their upfronts are announced.

Eddie. 23-10-2019 11:02 AM

And it's officially back...

BIG BROTHER
Twenty years ago, nine people entered a purpose-built house to be watched 24/7 by Big Brother and it changed TV forever! Life inside the house was fascinating, unpredictable, uplifting, confronting, shocking, surprising, hilarious and above all else, entertaining. In 2020, the world’s greatest reality show returns to shake things up. But if you think you know BIG BROTHER, then think again. This time, everything has changed. The thrilling new era of BIG BROTHER begins with a dynamic new house full of incredible surprises, new rules designed to create show stopping twists and a new generation of unique and ambitious housemates determined to outstay each other no matter what Big Brother throws at them. The only question is, when BIG BROTHER returns… are you ready to play? BIG BROTHER is an Endemol Shine Australia production for Channel Seven.

Eddie. 23-10-2019 11:31 AM

All my initial excitement has turned into disappointment. Can't get over the fact that the series is gonna be pre-recorded, they can adapt the NA format which I have no issues with, but BB is that type of show that is meant to be filmed and produced live. Not pre-recorded like Survivor.

Eddie. 23-10-2019 11:32 AM

I'm still giving it a chance though. :)
